Another Win For West Ham

In the Premier League WEST HAM won their 9th league game of the season as they win 2-0 at home against LEICESTER CITY. West Ham are on a total of 35 goals while Leicester have now won just 1 game in their last 6 league games and picked up their 11th blank of the season. Leicester have now failed to score any goals in their last 3 games.

Liverpool Extend Their Lead

In the Premier League top of the table LIVERPOOL won 2-0 at home to NEWCASTLE UNITED and are on a total of 84 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. Newcastle picked up their 5th blank of the season. ARSENAL in second place drew 0-0 away to Wolves and picked up their 7th blank of the season and now 2 games without a goal. MANCHESTER CITY won 1-0 away to TOTTENHAM and picked up goal number 66. Tottenham picked up their 6th blank of the season. 10 men MANCHESTER UNITED won 3-2 at home to IPSWICH TOWN and are now on a total of 51 goals. Celtic Could Break Goals Record

In the Premier League AFC BOURNEMOUTH lost 2-1 away to Brighton and picked up goal number 49. CRYSTAL PALACE won 4-1 at home to ASTON VILLA and have taken their goals total to 48 and they have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games. Villa are on 47 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. CHELSEA won 4-0 at home to bottom of the table SOUTHAMPTON. Chelsea have taken their goals tally up to 63 while Southampton picked up their 13th blank of the season and now 2 in a row. 

In the Championship MIDDLESBROUGH won 3-1 away to Stoke City and are now on a total of 57 goals. 

In League One top of the table BIRMINGHAM CITY won 2-0 at home to Leyton Orient and are on a total of 61 goals. BARNSLEY won 2-1 away to Northampton Town and are on a total of 49 goals. HUDDERSFIELD TOWN lost 2-1 away to Wigan and picked up their 50th goal of the season. 

In League Two BROMLEY lost 1-0 at home to Bradford City and that is their 7th blank of the season.

Leeds Take Control

In the Championship it was the clash of the giants as 2nd place SHEFFIELD UNITED took on leaders LEEDS UNITED at home. After Sheffield went a goal up at half time, Leeds came back to win 3-1. Sheffield are on a total of 52 goals and have extended their goal run to 5 games. Leeds have taken their goals tally to 72.

Week Twenty Nine

In Week Twenty-Nine of the competition, we had another £5 Weekend Jackpot and we had just the one winner who picked up his second win of the season MALCOLM STUBBS. 

Malcolm won on a score of 8 goals and he last won the cash back in Week Twenty-Five on his best score of 11 goals. His best position this season is still 69th place in Week Six. His best team is still Manchester City. Malcolm's winning teams are.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Most of us managed to pick up some more goals during midweek once again, so the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot has changed again from last week. The highest score this week went to SARAH MARSHALL with a total of 6 goals. They came from Aston Villa, Burnley and Celtic. Sarah is now on a total of 58 midweek goals.

We have new leaders this week with RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion remaining there with MARTIN CORBETT up from three. Both are now with a total of 72 goals. In second place we still have JAMES BLYTH on a total of 71 goals. In third place we now have BARBARA BARNES (2), BARRY BURROUGHS and ALFIE DIMMOCK all moving up from four. All now with a total of 69 goals. In fourth place we have up from fifth place, CARLA STEPHENS on a total of 67 goals. In fifth place we have GRANT PHILLIPS down from six on a total of 67goals. We then have five players all on a total of 66 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had just 6 of our teams with out a game this weekend and we had another 15 teams that failed to score any goals. We then had a very bad weekend from our teams with their results. We had a total of 17 players that failed to pick up any goals from their teams at the weekend. The average score therefore went down from six goals of last weekend to just 2 goals this weekend. So if you have done better than that? Well done. The highest score over the weekend was 4 goals, and they we had 3 teams that picked up that score. They came the Premier League NEWCASTLE UNITED and TOTTENHAM and from the Championship NORWICH CITY. Here are the rest of the weekend results.

Top of the table LIVERPOOL now have a 11 points lead after they won 2-0 away to MANCHESTER CITY. Liverpool are on a total of 82 goals. IPSWICH TOWN lost 4-1 at home to TOTTENHAM and are on a total of 33 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. Tottenham have taken their goals total to 66. Luke Hammond has moved back to second place, 4 goals behind Geoff. Luke picked up a total of 6 goals from the week and his teams are Celtic, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Leicester 1 Win in 6 League Gmes

In the Premier League LEICESTER CITY lost 4-0 at home to Brentford and picked up their 10th blank of the season. City have now failed to score in their last 2 legaue games. 

In the Championship, MIDDLESBROUGH lost 2-1 away to Bristol City and are on a total of 54 goals. BURNLEY won 4-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday and have taken their goals tally to 47.

In the Scottish Championship, top of the table FALKIRK won 2-0 away to Greenock Morton and are on a total of 68 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 6 league games.

Week Twenty-Eight

In Week Twenty-Eight of the competition, we had another £5 Weekend Jackpot but we had 3 winners which means that they won £1.66 each. This weekends winners are MICK LIDDLE, LUCIFER (John Wood) and our 2016/176 Champion JOHN WOOD. All won on a score of 9 goals, That now means that we have had a total of 30 winners this season.

Mick picks up his second win of the season as he won some cash back in Week Five. His highest position is still 39th in Week Six. Since Christmas he has started to pick upo the goals from his seletion. His best team is Liverpool.

John wins twice this weekend first as a Champion and then with Lucifer. John started with Golden Goals back in the 1997/98 season and finished in 87th place with a total of 209 goals, he picked up a shared weekend win. John became Champion in the 2016/17 winning on a score of 344 goals. That currently finds him in 3rd place in our Champions league. Last season John finished in 46th place with 297 goals. His other combination, Lucifer finished in 60th place with 291 goals. You might not know that John has 4 combinations in the comoetition for the last few season’s. John this season has been as high as 44th place in Week Nine. He has picked up just 3 blank weekend score sheets. Our winners teams are.

The average score went up from four goals of last weekend to 6 goals this weekend. So if you have done better than that? County Lose Ground on Leaders

In League Two second place NOTTS COUNTY lost 1-0 away to Port Vale, and picked up their 7th blank of the season after a goal run of 10 league/cup games.

Liverpool Derby Draw

In the Premier League LIVERPOOL drew 2-2 away to Everton in this Merseyside derby and are on a total of 76 goals. 

In the Championship second place SHEFFIELD UNITED won 3-1 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH and are on a total of 50 goals. Middlesbrough are on 53 goals. BURNLEY won 2-0 at home to Hull City and are on a total of 43 goals. MILLWALL lost 5-1 away to Plymouth and are on a total of 37 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. LUTON TOWN lost 2-0 away to Sunderland and picked up their 11th blank of the season. SWANSEA CITY lost 1-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday and they have now had a total of 14 blank score sheets.

Leeds and Birmingham Still Top

In the Championship top of the table LEEDS UNITED won 4-0 away to Watford and have taken their goals tally to 67. OXFORD UNITED picked up their 10th blank of the season and now 2 in a row after they drew 0-0 away to Derby County. PORTSMOUTH won 2-1 at home to Cardiff City and are on a total of 39 goals. PRESTON NE won 1-0 away to NORWICH CITY and are on a total of 44 goals. Norwich picked up their 11th blank of the season. 

In League One top of the table BIRMINGHAM CITY won 4-0 at home to Cambridge United and have taken their goals tally up to 58. Birmingham have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games. BLACKPOOL drew 0-0 at home to Rotherham United and picked up their 8th blank of the season after a goal run of 7 league/cup games. CHARLTON won 2-1 at home to PETERBOROUGH UNITED and are on a total of 49 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. Peterborough picked up their 54th goal of the season and have now scored 5 goals in their last 5 games. 

In League Two AFC WIMBLEDON won 3-0 at home to Crewe and are now on a total of 49 goals. MK DONS lost 2-1 away to Barrow and are on a total of 43 goals. 

Scottish League One COVE RANGERS drew 1-1 at home to Montrose and picked up goal number 44.

Domestic Cup Action

In our last game of the FA CUP 4th Round, CRYSTAL PALACE won 2-0 away to DONCASTER ROVERS and are on a total of 41 goals. Rovers picked up their 8th blank of the season after a goal run of 9 league/cup games. 

In the SCOTTISH CUP 5th Round, HEARTS drew 1-1 against St Mirren away after the full 90 minutes. That score remained the same even after extra time . Hearts went on to win  4-2 on penalties. Hearts are on a total of 39 goals.

Week Twenty-Seven

In Week Twenty-Seven of the competition, we had another £5 Weekend Jackpot. This weekends winner was PETER WELLARD winning on a score of 12 goals, which is his personal best score. Peter becomes our 29th winner of the season. 

Peter started with Golden Goals back in the 2004/05 and finished in 57th place with a total of 261 goals. He picked up 2 shared weekend wins. Last season Peter finished in 55th place with 293 goals and again he picked up 2 shared weekend wins. This season he has been as high as 20th place in Week One. He has picked up 3 blank weekend score sheets and Celtic are his best team. Here are his winners teams.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Most of us managed to pick up some more goals during midweek, so the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot has changed again from last week. We had another 30 players that have now reached the half-way mark which now brings our total to 65 players that have hit the 50 mark. The highest score this week went to GRANT PHILLIPS and DAVE SOMERVILLE with a total of 13 goals each.

Leading the race this week we have BARBARA BARNES (2) back in front moving up from two, now with a total of 67 goals. In second place both up from three we have PETER WELLARD and RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion, both with a total of 66 goals. In third place wenow have last weeks leader ALFIE DIMMOCK with CHRIS SETFORD up from four and BARRY BURROUGHS all now on a total of 63 goals. In fourth place all with a total of 62 goals we now have MARTIN CORBETT up from five and coming back into the race we have GEOFF DOCKERILL our 1994/95 Champion, with BRUCE SELF and DAVE SOMERVILLE our 2009/10 Champion. In fifth place we now have JAMES BLYTH, LUKE HAMMOND and GRANT PHILLIPS, all on a total of 61 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had 15 of our teams without a game this weekend and we had another 9 teams that failed to score any goals. We had some bad scores this weekend on the whole, with some of our top teams picking up blank score sheets. The average score down from seven goals of last weekend to just 4 goals this weekend. So if you have done better than that? Well done. The highest score over the weekend was 5 goals, and they came from two of our teams. They were from the Scottish Premiership from CELTIC and from the Scottish Championship FALKIRK. Here are the rest of the weekend results.

FA CUP FOURTH Round

We had a total of 14 of our teams in cup action and out of them 8 have made it through to the next round. They are MILLWALL who won 2-0 away to LEEDS UNITED and are on a total of 36 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. Leeds picked up their 8th blank of the season. MANCHESTER CITY won 2-1 away to Leyton Orient and are on a total of 61 goals and have now scored in all of their 13 league/cup games. IPSWICH TOWN picked up their biggest result of the season as they win 4-1 away to Coventry City. Ipswich have taken their goals tally to 31. AFC BOURNEMOUTH won 2-0 away to Everton and are on a total of 45 goals. PRESTON NE drew 0-0 after extra time and then won 4-2 on penalties. Preston picked up their 9th blank of the season. BURNLEY won 1-0 away to SOUTHAMPTON and are on a total of 41 goals. Southampton after a goal run of 5 league/cup games, picked up their 11th blank of the season. NEWCASTLE won 3-2 away to BIRMINGHAM CITY and are now on a total of 59 goals and have now scored in all of their last 17 league/cup games. Birmingham are on a total of 54 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. ASTON VILLA won 2-1 at home to TOTTENHAM and are on a total of 41 goals. Tottenham are now on a total of 61 goals. Other teams that went out are LIVERPOOL with the biggest shock of the 4th round games as they lost 1-0 away to Plymouth. Liverpool after a goal run of 6 league/cup games, picked up their 3rd blank of the season. CHELSEA who lost 2-1 away to Brighton and are on a total of 58 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Leeds United are top of the table with SHEFFIELD UNITED are still in 2nd place after they won 2-1 at home to PORTSMOUTH. United are on a total of 47 goals while Portsmouth, after they had failed to score in their previous 2 games, picked up goal number 37.

In the Play-offs we still have just one of the 4 teams and they are Burnley in 3rd place.

Meanwhile NORWICH CITY drew 1-1 at home to Derby County and are on a total of 54 goals. SWANSEA CITY won 1-0 away to Bristol City and they are on a total of 36 goals.

LEAGUE ONE

Birmingham City remain top of the table this week.

In the Play-offs we now have three of the 4 teams. In 3rd place we still have Wrexham with HUDDERSFIELD TOWN down to 5th place after they drew 0-0 at home to Reading and that is their 8th blank of the season. CHARLTON have moved up to 6th place after they won 2-0 at home to Stevenage. Charlton are on a total of 47 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games.

Meanwhile  BARNSLEY lost 2-1 away to Stockport County and picked up their 47th goal of the season. BOLTON won 4-3 at home to Crawley Town and have taken their goals total to 52. BLACKPOOL drew 1-1 away to Burton and are on a total of 51 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games.

LEAGUE TWO

The highest team that we have are NOTTS COUNTY who have moved up to 2nd place after they won 2-0 at home to Morecambe. County are now on a total of 58 goals and have now scored in all of their last 10 league/cup games. Doncaster Rovers drop down to 3rd place.

In the Play-offs we have just one of the 4 teams. They are AFC WIMBLEDON down to 5th place after they drew 0-0 away to Accrington. That is Wimbledon’s 10th blank of the season. 

Meanwhile  BROMLEY won 1-0 away to MK DONS and picked up their 48th goal of the season. The Dons picked up their 11th blank of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

SCOTTISH CUP FIFTH Round

we had just 4 of our teams in cup action and out of them 2 have made it through to the next round. They are DUNDEE who after they had failed to score in their last 2 league games, won 4-0 at home to Airdrie. Dundee have taken their goals total to 66 goals. CELTIC won 5-0 at home to Raith Rovers and are now on a total of 97 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. The teams that went out are RANGERS go out of the cup after they lost 1-0 at home to Queen’s Park. After a goal run of 19 league/cup games, Rangers have now had a total of four blank score sheets. COVE RANGERS are out of the cup after they lost 3-0 away to Livingston and they picked up their 6th blank of the season.

In the Championship, top of the table FALKIRK won 5-2 at home to Partick and have taken their goals tally up to 64.

In League One STENHOUSEMUIR are still top after they won 2-1 at home to Queen of the South. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 44 goals.

In League Two EAST FIFE are still top after they won 1-0 away to The Spartans and they have picked up their 58th goal of the season. PETERHEAD remained in second place after they won 4-3 away to Bonnyrigg Rose. Peterhead have taken their goals total to 49 goals. CLYDE won 2-0 at home to Stranraer and are on a total of  38 goals.

Our worst performing team is now PORTSMOUTH this weekend as they have had a total of 14 blank score sheet from 33 league/cup games. They have a total of 37 goals.

Our highest goal-scoring team that we have in our 42nd Season are MANCHESTER CITY after they won 8-0 at home to Salford City in the FA Cup 3rd Round in Week Twenty-Three.

 GEOFF DOCKERILL our 1994/95 Champion, is celebrating his 6th weekend at the top after his teams picked him up a total of 15 goals from the week. Geoff’s teams are Arsenal, Celtic and Liverpool. Luke Hammond is still in second place, now just 3 goals behind Geoff. Luke picked up a total of 18 goals from the week and his teams are Celtic, Chelsea and Liverpool.

At the other end at 114 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY with his 13th consecutive weekend. Charlie’s teams picked up just 2 goals again all from the weekend. His teams are Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.
