Week Thirty-Two


In Week Thirty-Two of the competition and we had two winners this weekend which brings our winners total to forty as both are new winners for this season. On a score of 11 goals the £6 weekend cash prize money was shared between JOHN DAVIES and SARAH MARSHALL.
John has been with the competition for three seasons now and when he stared in our 2015/16 Season, John finished in the winning frame in third place on a total of 289 goals. With one shared weekend win, John took home over £50 in cash. Last season he finished in 35th place on a total of 306 goals. This season he has won on his highest score of the season and he has picked up a total of four blank score sheet to date. His best team is on form Blackburn and this is the highest that John has been all season.
Sarah is in her second season with Golden Goals and last season she finished in 39th place on a total of 304 goals. This season Sarah has dropped Derby from last season and picked up Aston Villa. Sarah has also picked up her biggest score of the season and she has had just three blank score sheets to date. Her bets team is Celtic and her highest position is 41 in Week Four.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Over half of us once again managed to pick up some more midweek goals this weeks and there was six of us how picked up the highest score with six goals each.  The race for the cash has again thinned out a lot this week.
I’am still in the lead (Me) STEVE REEVE after picking up six goals from Manchester United and Rangers with three goals each. I now have a total to 97 goals. My teams are Manchester United, Rangers and Wolves. In second place this week on 92 goals and moving up from three is JAMES BLYTH while in third place down from two is BARBARA BARNES (1). In fourth place moving up from six is STEVE CADWELL on a total of 89 goals. In fifth place this week down from four is ANDY EYLES on a total of 88 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
Well we had one hell of a crazy weekend as we had a total of five teams that picked up the highest score of four goals each. So this weekend’s average shot up to 7 goals. Once again all of us managed to pick up some goals from our teams which is good news. We had just three of our teams with out a game this weekend and another ten teams that failed to score any goals.

PREMIERSHIP
There were no game for Manchester City this week but they have remained top once again this weekend. In second place and thirteen points behind City is MANCHESTER UNITED. They are back after winning 2-1 at home to LIVERPOOL. United are now on a total of 73 goals while Liverpool take their goals tally to 72 and now down to fourth place. In third place is now TOTTENHAM who won 4-1 away to BOURNEMOUTH after going a goal down. Tottenham are now on 76 goals and have extended their goals run to twenty-three games. Bournemouth picked up goal number 44. CHELSEA won 2-1 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE and they are now on a total of 70 goals while Palace are on 33. ARSENAL are now on a total of 63 goals after they won 3-0 at home to Watford. Arsenal are in sixth place in the league. EVERTON won 2-0 at home against Brighton and they are on a total of 40 goals while NEWCASTLE have taken their goals tally to 35 as they win 3-0 at home to Southampton. WEST HAM picked up their eleventh blank of the season as they lost 3-0 at home to Burnley. WEST BROM are still rock bottom here as they went down 4-1 at home to LEICESTER CITY after going a goal up. West Brom are now on 33 goals while Leicester take their s up to 63.

CHAMPIONSHIP
WOLVES are still on top here but they lost 4-1 away to third place ASTON VILLA. Wolves take their goals total to 68 while Villa are now on 67. Just three points behind Wolves are CARDIFF in second place. They won 3-2 at home to BIRMINGHAM. Cardiff are now on a total of 62 goals while Birmingham are now on 34.
In the play-off zone, we have now have three of our teams in there. They are Aston Villa in third place and FULHAM still in fourth place after they won 2-1 away to Preston. Fulham take their goals tally to 66. MIDDLESBROUGH are in sixth place after they won 3-1 at home to Barnsley. Brough are now on 61 goals.
Meanwhile HULL won 4-3 at home to NORWICH and that takes their goals tally to 53 while Norwich are now on 49 after a two game dry spell for goals. IPSWICH drew 0-0 at home to SHEFFIELD UNITED and that is their twelfth blank score sheet to United's thirteen and now two games in a row. BRENTFORD have now picked up twelve blank score sheets after they lost 1-0 away to Millwall. QUEENS PARK RANGERS are now on 42 goals as they win 1-0 at home to SUNDERLAND who picked up their fifteenth blank score sheet and now two in a row.READING drew 2-2 at home to LEEDS UNITED and are now on a total of 51 goals while Leeds are on 62. BOLTON drew 1-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday and they are now on 38 goals. BURTON ALBION picked up their twentieth blank of the season and now three in a row after they drew 0-0 at home to Bristol City.

LEAGUE ONE
BLACKBURN are still top this week as they win 3-0 at home to Blackpool. Blackburn are now on a total of 80 goals.
In the play-off zone we have three teams. WIGAN are in third place still after they drew 3-3 at home to fifth place  SCUNTHORPE. Wigan are now on 79 goals to Scunthorpes 58. PLYMOUTH are still in sixth place as they drew 1-1 away to FLEETWOOD TOWN. While Plymouth hit goal number 46, Fleetwood are now on 52. 
Meanwhile PETERBOROUGH won 4-1 at home to CHARLTON and they are now on 74 goals while Charlton are on 51. PORTSMOUTH are on 44 goals but they lost 3-1 at home to Gillingham. SOUTHEND drew 0-0 at home to DONCASTER to pick up their twelfth blank score sheet and now two in a row while Doncaster picked up their fourteenth after a goal run of nine games.

LEAGUE TWO
LUTON have dropped down to second place after they lost 2-1 at home to Accrington who moves to the top. Luton have taken their goals tally up to 83 goals.
In the play-off zone we now have three of our teams in this weekend. They are MANSFIELD in fifth place after they drew 1-1 at home to COLCHESTER. Mansfield are now on 62 goals while Colchester picked up goal number 47. EXETER are still in sixth place as they drew 1-1 at home to Carlisle. Exeter are now on 54 goals. LINCOLN CITY are in seventh place as they win 3-1 away to Chesterfield. Lincoln have taken their goals tally to 51.
Meanwhile COVENTRY are on 49 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Barnet. FOREST GREEN lost 2-1 at home against Notts County and that is their 48th goal of the season. PORT VALE are on 44 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Grimsby.

SCOTTISH RESULTS
In the Premiership, CELTIC beat rivals RANGERS 3-2 away after going a goal down in the first three minutes of play. Celtic are now on a total of 85 goals and now nine points clear of Rangers who are on a total of 83 goals. ABERDEEN are still in third place but they drew 0-0 away to Partick. Have picked up just one goal in their last four games and they have a total of eleven blank score sheet to date.
In the Championship, FALKIRK are now on 50 goals as they win 3-1 at home to Morton.In League One, RAITH are still top but they lost 3-0 away to Ary. That is Raith’s sixth blank of the season. In League Two, PETERHEAD are top as they win 1-0 away to Stirling. Peterhead are now on 86 goals STENHOUSEMUIR are in fourth place after they lost 3-2 at home to Clyde. Stenhousemuir are now on 47 goals. ELGIN CITY are on 48 after they won 3-0 at home to Berwick.

The team with the best run of goals is currently TOTTENHAM who have scored in all of their last twenty-three games.

BURTON ALBION have picked up the most number of  blank score sheets with a total of twenty out of a total of forty games played this season.

Our highest goal scoring team in our 35th Season is PETERHEAD from the Scottish League Two. They picked up our highest score in week eleven as they won 9-0 at home to non-league team Colville Park in the WILLIAM HILL CUP Second Round. 

Once again CHRIS BOOM is still on top this weekend as his combination picked him up a total of just four goals all coming from the weekend. Chris has now been at the top for a total of thirteen weeks which is the longest yet this season. He is still three goals clear of Paul Davey in second place. But Chris has failed to move up our Champions League this week and he remains in 34th place. Chris has the combination of Celtic, Manchester City and Peterhead.
At the other end at number 149 we still have COLIN PINDER back there for his twentieth weekend. Colin picked up a total of four goals for the week from his combination of Colchester, Crystal Palace and Southend.
