Week Twenty-Three

In Week Twenty-Three of the competition we had two winners to share the cash this weekend on a score of 9 goals each.
They are GUY DOWSETT and COLIN WEBB (2) but only one of them has had his first win of the season and that is Colin, who becomes our twenty-fifth winner of the season.
Guy has now picked up his third win of the season and becomes the second player to do so. Guy last won in Week Twenty-One and once again it was shared. He has still only had two blank score sheets to date and Manchester City is his best team this weekend.
Colin has been with Golden Goals since the 2007/08 Season which was our Silver Jubilee on where he finished in 77th place on a total of 227 goals. Last season Colin finished in the winning frame in 14th place on a total of 320 goals. With two weekend wins, Colin won over £18 in cash. This season Colin has entered two combinations and it’s his second one that has won him the cash this weekend. The highest that his second selection has been is 53rd place on Week Eight. He has picked up three blank score sheets and his beat team is also Manchester City. Our winners teams are

Guy  CELTIC- COVE RANGERS 5, MANCHESTER CITY 4
Colin  FULHAM 2, MANCHESTER CITY 4, SUNDERLAND 3

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
All by one of us picked up some more goals this week from the New Year Day fixtures and the race for the cash has changed this week. It was MANDY WRIGHT who picked up the highest midweek score with ten goals. They came from Queens.Park Rangers six and West Ham 4. Mandy’s third team is Celtic. There are a total of thirty-nine players that now are on a total of 50 or more midweek goals this week.
PATRICK O’DONAGHUE has remained in the lead with a total of 67 goals. Patrick picked up a total of five goals from Fulham, Liverpool and Manchester City. In joint second place we still have ANDY EYLES this week but he is now with COLIN WEBB (2) moving up from three both with a total of 63 goals. In third place moving up from four is PHIL REEVE now on a total of 61 goals. In fourth place we have five players all on a total of 58 goals. They are TOBY BICKNELL,  AVA & AUBREY CLARK  and MATT DORAN all moving up from five last week. In fifth place we have another four players all on a total of 57 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend we had eleven of our teams without a game and another nine that failed to score any goals. So it’s a great surprise that this weekends average score moved up from four goals of last weekend to 5 goals this weekend. The good news is that all but two players picked up some goals.
The highest score that we had this weekend came from two of our teams with five goals each. In the Scottish League Two, COVE RANGERS won 5-1 away to Brechin City. Rangers are now on a total of 58 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. The other score came from the FA CUP Third Round games where QUEENS PARK RANGERS won 5-1 at home against Swansea. Rangers have now scored a total of eleven goals in their first two games of 2020 and they are now on a total of 52 goals. Both teams have just one vote each this season.

FA CUP Third Round
We had a total of thirty-two of our teams in cup action over the weekend and we already know that Q.P.R are through to the next round.
