Week Thirty

In Week Thirty of the competition and we are half way through the second half of the season, there were no winners this weekend due to the International games being played over the weekend, so the £6 cash prize money has been Rolled over to next week. We have had a total of 31 winners to date this season. Even though we have just a few of our teams in action over the weekend, STEVE AYRES picked up the most number of goals with nine. They came from Peterborough 7 and Portsmouth 2. His third team Celtic had no game.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS

Only twenty-four of us picked up some goals this week due to the lack of games to Internationals this week. But now are looking at beating the highest midweek score of 136 goals set by Daryl Nicholls in the 2016/17 Season. We are also looking to beat the number of players to reach 100 midweek goals in a season. Last season we had a record breaking 51 players that reached the 100 or more midweek goals. This week we still have a total of six players that are on or over 100 goals. RAYMOND HARROD is still out in front with a total of 106 goals. His teams are Brentford, Celtic and Manchester City. SANSA-CLARA-LYANNA is second with a total of 105 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had a total of eighteen of our teams that played over the weekend and out of them, six failed to score any goals. This means that only twenty-six players managed to pick up any goals so the average score for this weekend is a flat zero. The Highest score that we had over the weekend was seven goals and they came from League One PETERBOROUGH who won 7-0 at home to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. With their highest result of the season, Peterborough are now on a total of 68 goals and have now scored in all of their last six games. Accrington picked up their tenth blank of the season.

LEAGUE ONE

HULL are still top here a after they drew 1-1 at home to Gillingham. Hull are on a total of 68 goals and have now scored in all of their last seven games. Peterborough remained in second place after their big win.

In the Play-off’s we still have three of our teams out of the four with SUNDERLAND in third place as they won 1-0 away to Bristol Rovers. Sunderland are on a total of 55 goals and a goal run of eighteen games. Lincoln City are still in fourth place with PORTSMOUTH moving up to fifth place as they win 2-1 away to Shrewsbury. Portsmouth are on a total of 66 goals.

Meanwhile PLYMOUTH drew 2-2 away to Blackpool and they are on a total of 61 goals. WIGAN picked up their fourteenth blank score sheet after they drew 0-0 at home to Ipswich.

LEAGUE TWO

CHELTENHAM have dropped down to second place after they lost 1-0 away to Morecambe and that is their ninth blank of the season. TRANMERE ROVERS have moved into third place after they drew 1-1 at home to Mansfield. Rovers are on a total of 55 goals.

In the Play-off’s we have just one team now as BOLTON moved up to fourth place after they won 1-0 away to Forest Green. Bolton are on 51 goals and they have now scored in all of their last sixteen games.

Meanwhile EXETER won 1-0 at home to SALFORD CITY and that is goal number 65 for them. Salford picked up their fourteenth blank and now four games in a row without a goal. HARROGATE TOWN lost 1-0 at home to SOUTHEND and that is their fourteenth blank of the season while Southend picked up their 26th goal of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

No Premiership games this week but in the Championship top of the table HEARTS lost 3-2 at home to Queen of South but they are now on a total of 58 goals. Hearts are now 13 points in front of second place Raith Rovers who have a game behind.

In League One. Top of the table FALKIRK won 2-0 away to Forfar and they are on  a total of 33 goals. COVE RANGERS in second place drew 0-0 away to East Fife. That was Rangers fourth blank of the season.

In League Two STENHOUSEMUIR lost 3-1 away to Edinburgh City and they are on a total of 26 goals.

Our BEST three teams this week with Golden Goals. They are

MANCHESTER CITY (86)  RANGERS (84) BRENTFORD (77) Total of 247 goals

OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE

COVE RANGERS (23) SOUTHEND (26) STENHOUSEMUIR (26) Total of 75 goals

Our Best team this week are RANGERS after they have now scored in all of their last thirty-one league/cup games. They have scored a total of 84 goals which still gives them an average score of 2.4 goals per game.

Our worst team this weekend is ABERDEEN who have scored just five goals in their last fourteen games played.

SOUTHEND have picked up the most number of blank score sheets this season with twenty-two after forty games played.

Our highest goal scorers in our 38th Season are MANCHESTER UNITED after they won 9-0 win at home against Southampton in the league in Week Twenty-Three.

STEVE REEVE has remained at the top again this weekend, even though I did not have any of my teams in action this week. So now it’s eight weeks in a row at the top for me this week. My teams are Brentford, Manchester City and Rangers.

Michael Fisher is still in second place as he also had none of his teams in action. So Michael is still seven goals behind me this week. His teams are Manchester City Manchester United and Rangers.

At the other end at 116 we still have John Nicholls who has now been there for fourteen consecutive weeks. Johns teams also not in action this week with his combo of Bristol City, Fulham and West Brom.

There's a slight change in the table this week as we look at the top ten.
