Week Eighteen

Here we are with Week Eighteen of the competition we are down to just the lower leagues in action so once again there is no cash prize money to win this weekend. We did have one player that picked up the most number of goals this weekend and they are JAMES BLYTH. James picked up a total of 6 goals. His teams are Ipswich, Manchester City and Sheffield Wednesday.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Only one of us managed to pick up some midweek goals this week and they are LUCIFER (John Wood). He picked up a total of two goals. They came from Alloa he also has Bonnyrigg Rose and Stenhousemuir. So there was no change in the leading pack this week we still have NICK HORTON out in front with a total of 39 goals. His teams are Manchester City, Middlesbrough and Norwich. In second place we have HAYLEY ADKINS with a total of 38 goals. In third place we still have RICK WOOD our 2007/08 Champion with a total of 35 goals. In fourth place we still have JAMES BLYTH and JACQUI RATTLE both with a total of 34 goals. In fifth place with a total of 32 goals we still have MARK GREGORY. In sixth place all on 31 goals we still have STEVE AYRES, GEOFF CARTHY, PETER PORTER and TERENCE WARWICK.

WEEKEND RESULTS

Due to the FA Cup we had seven of our teams without a game this weekend and we had three teams that failed to score any goals. The highest score that we had was four goals and they came from the FA CUP 2nd Round where OXFORD UNITED won 4-1 at home to Exeter City. Oxford are on a total of 33 goals and have scored in all of their last ten games. IPSWICH won 3-0 at home to non-league Buxton. Ipswich are now on a total of 45 goals. 

FA CUP 2nd Round

We had 13 of our teams in action and out of them only five have made it through to the next round. We already know that Oxford Utd and Ipswich are through, the other teams that also went through are FOREST GREEN ROVERS won 2-1 at home to non-league Alvechurch and they are on a total of 22 goals. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY won 2-1 at home to MANSFIELD TOWN. Wednesday are on a total of 45 goals and a goal run of fifteen games now. Mansfield are on a total of 30 goals. DERBY won 2-1 away to Newport County and they are on a total of 35 goals. 

Teams that are in replays are CHARLTON after they drew 2-2 at home to STOCKPORT COUNTY. Charlton are on a total of 39 goals while Stockport are on 31 goals. GILLINGHAM after failing to score in their last two games are now on a total of 12 goals as they drew 1-1 away to non-league Dagenham & Redbridge. 

Other teams that went out are MK DONS as thye lost 3-2 away to Portsmouth and they are on a total of 30 goals. PETERBOROUGH lost 3-1 away to Shrewsbury Town and that is goal number 40 for them. BRISTOL ROVERS lost 2-0 at home to non-league Boreham Wood. Rovers goal run of 10 games has come to the end as they picked up their 5th blank of the season. AFC WIMBLEDON as they lost 2-0 away to non-league Chesterfield. Wimbledon picked up their 8th blank of the season.

SCOTTISH CUP 3rd Round

We had just two more of our teams in cup action. They were STENHOUSEMUIR who won 3-1 away to non-league Formartine United. Stenhousemuir are in the next round and they are now on a total of 39 goals. They have also now scored in all of their last fourteen games. KELTY HEARTS go out after they lost 3-0 away to Partick Thistle and picked up their 10th blank of the season and now two in a row.

Our best performing team are BURNLEY as they have now scored in all of their last twenty league/cup games played. They have a total of 44 goals. That gives them an average score of 1.9 goals per game.

Our worst performing team is GILLINGHAM this weekend as they have picked up fourteen blank score sheets out of twenty-five League/Cup games played.

Our highest goal scorers in our 40th Season are CELTIC who won 9-0 away to Dundee Utd in the league and LIVERPOOL who won 9-0 at home to Bournemouth in the league both from Week Five.

Our 2010/11 Champion TONY GUY with his second selection, has remained at number one spot for his 5th weekend running. Tony picked up two goals this week from Sheffield Wednesday. His other teams are  Arsenal and Celtic. Grant Phillips has moved in to second place this weekend. Grant also picked up two goals from Sheffield Wednesday. His other teams are Celtic and Tottenham.

At the other end at 108 we have SANDRA NICHOLLS as all of her teams are out of action. Sandra has now been here for three weeks and now six over the season. Sandra’s teams are Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

There has been a slight change in the top ten this weekend.
