Week Two

Here we are with Week Two of the competition and this weekend we had a full league fixture, which gave us our second winner of the season. Our winner was BARRY BURROUGHS (1) who won on a score of 11 goals. Barry has won himself £5 this weekend. Barry started with us back in the 2010/11 Season on where he finished in 20th place with a total of 284 goals and picked up one shared weekend win. For a few years now, Barry has entered two combinations with his first combo winning this weekend. Last season he finished in the winning frame with his first combination with 309 goals. His second finished in 42nd place with 273 goals. He picked up one weekend win. His teams for this season are

CELTIC 3, NORWICH 4, SOUTHAMPTON 4

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

We can now have our first look at who is in the lead for our 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot worth a total of £25 this season. The prize money will go to the first person to reach 100 goals from their three teams.

Taking the lead after two weeks of football we have CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) out in front with a total of 25 goals. In second place we have our 2015/16 Champion RICHARD WILLIAMS with 24 goals. In third place with 14 goals we have MIKE LIDDLE. In fourth place is DAVID BARRETT with 10 goals. GUY DOWSETT (1) is in fifth place with a total of 9 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

So we had our very first full weekend fixture and not a bad start to the season. We had just two teams with no game over the weekend with another eleven of our teams that failed to score any goals. So for our very first weekend the average score was 5 goals. So if your combination picked up more than that, then you have done very well this weekend.

The Highest score over the weekend was 5 goals and they came from the Premier League where NEWCASTLE won 5-1 at home to Aston Villa. Newcastle became our 6th voted team in our very first season of 1983/84. In that season they finished on a total of 87 goals. Their highest score came in the 1992/93 Season with 105 goals. Last season they finished on a total of 77 goals. This is their 32nd Season with Golden Goals and they have scored a total of 2115 goals. This gives them an average score of 66 goals per season to date. They have a total of 11 votes this season.
