Carabao/League Cup (Part Two)

The second part of the Carabao/League Cup third round games have now been played and out of the nine teams that are with Golden Goals, only six have made it through to the next round. That gives us only ten of our teams are through to the fourth round.
The biggest score of the night and of the round, CHELSEA beat Grimsby Town 7-0 at home. With their biggest result of the season, Chelsea are now on a total of 19 goals and have now scored in all of their last six games. ASTON VILLA will be joining them as they win 3-1 away to Brighton. Villa have taken their goals total up to 15 goals. LIVERPOOL won 2-0 away to MK DONS and they are now on a total of 19 goals and a goal run of seven games, while the Dons picked up their fourth blank score sheet and now three in a row. SUNDERLAND won 1-0 away to SHEFFIELD UNITED to give them a total of 21 goals while United picked up their second blank of the season. MANCHESTER UNITED have scrapped through as they drew 1-1 at home to Rochdale after 90 minutes and then won 5-3 on penalties. That was United’s 9th goal of the season. WOLVES are through as they drew 1-1 after full time against Reading and then won 4-2 on penalties. Wolves have picked up goal number 8 and have now scored in all of their last six games. The biggest disappointment of the night was that WEST HAM go out after they lost 4-0 away to Oxford United. That was West Ham’s third blank of the season.
The next round will be played on Tuesday 29th October.

In the Scottish Betfred Cup Quarter-finals, we had just three
of our teams in action and the good news is that all three are through to the next round. The biggest result was that CELTIC won 5-0 at home to Partick and they are now on a total of 28 goals and have now scored in all of their eight games. RANGERS are also through as they win just 1-0 away to Livingston. That was Rangers 20th goal of the season. HEARTS drew 2-2 at home to Aberdeen after the full 90 minutes and then won 3-0 on penalties. Hearts are now on 19 goals and they have now scored in all of their last six games.
