Carabao/League Cup Third Round (Part One)

The first part of the third round of the Carabao/League Cup has now been played and we had eleven of our teams playing. Out of them only four have made it through to the next round and they are, LEICESTER CITY as they score their biggest result of the season by winning 4-0 away to LUTON TOWN. Leicester are now on a total of 13 goals while Luton picked up their third blank and now two in a row. MANCHESTER CITY won 3-0 away to PRESTON and they are now on a total of 27 goals and they have now scored in all of their seven games. Preston picked up their second blank score sheet after a goal run of nine games. ARSENAL picked up their biggest score to date as they win 5-0 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST. Arsenal are now on a total of 16 goals and have extended their goal run to seven games. Forest after a goal run of ten games picked up their first blank of the season. EVERTON won 2-0 away to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY and they are now on 11 goals while Wednesday picked up their second blank of the season.

The shock of the night must be Colchester United knocking out TOTTENHAM. The game ended in a 0-0 draw before Colchester won 4-3 on penalties. That was Tottenham’s second blank of the season. STOKE drew 1-1 away to Crawley but then lost 5-3 on penalties. That was Stokes 11th goal of the season. PORTSMOUTH are out after they lost 4-0 at home to Southampton and that is their third blank of the season and now two in a row.
