In Week Six of the competition we had the European Championship
Qualifying Rounds all week which meant that there was not much football around
for Golden
Goals this week.
The highest score that we got at
the weekend was three goals and they went to LUCIFER (John Wood). The goals came
from Accrington Stanley. His other teams are Peterhead and Preston.

WEEKEND
RESULTS
This weekend
we had just fourteen teams playing over the weekend. Out of them just one failed
to score any goals.
The Highest
score over the weekend was three goals and they came from League One where ACCRINGTON STANLEY drew 3-3 away to Bristol Rovers. They are now on a total of 9
goals.
Accrington became our 102nd English team to join Golden Goals and their first season
was in 2006/07 where they finished on a score of 71 goals. That is their
highest score to date. Accrington are in their fourth season with us and last
season they ended on a total of 57 goals. In the four seasons they have netted
a total of 204 goals which gives them an average score of 51 goals per season.
They have just one vote again this season.
LEAGUE ONE
Ipswich did not have a game this week so
they fell down to third place which means that they are still our highest team
here. LINCOLN
CITY are down to fifth
place after they lost 3-1 away to Wycombe. Lincoln have kept their goal scoring
record going as they extended their run to nine games and they are now on a total of
16 goals. BLACKPOOL are down to sixth place after they lost 3-2 away to
Coventry. Blackpool are now on a total of 14 goals. DONCASTER won 2-1 at
home against ROTHERHAM. Both teams are now on a total of 9 goals each. MK
DONS won 2-1 at home against AFC Wimbledon and they have taken their goals
tally up to 14 goals.
LEAGUE TWO
FOREST
GREEN have become our
highest team here in fifth place after they won 1-0 away to Cambridge Utd.
Forest Green failed to score in their last two games and with yet another
single goal they are now on 6 goals. BRADFORD won 2-1 at home to Northampton and they are now on a total of 8
goals. LEYTON ORIENT lost 3-1 at home against Swindon and they are now
on 8 goals and they have now scored in all of their last four games. MANSFIELD
won 2-0 at home to SCUNTHORPE. After a tow game dry spell for goals,
Mansfield are now on 12 goals while bottom of the table Scunthorpe picked up
their fifth blank score sheet and now three in a row. It’s 10 goals for SALFORD
CITY as they drew 2-2 away to Morecombe. Salford have now scored in all of their last five
games. PLYMOUTH have extended their goal run to five games as they drew
2-2 at home to OLDHAM. Plymouth are now on a total of 16 goals while
Oldham take their goals tally to seven.

their first league game in Week One.
GUY DOWSETT is now in his sixth consecutive
