Last Games of 2020

 


In the Premier League we had yet another game cancelled due to covid between Tottenham and Fulham. Meanwhile with the very last games of 2020, LIVERPOOL’S goal run of twelve games has finally ended as they drew 0-0 away to Newcastle. That is Liverpool’s second blank of the season.

In the Championship, BRENTFORD have moved up to second place after their 2-1 home win against BOURNEMOUTH. Brentford have now scored in all of their last six games and are now on a total of 45 goals. Bournemouth picked up goal number 37. SWANSEA drew 0-0 at home to READING. Swansea picked up their sixth blank of the season while Reading after a goal run of ten games have picked up their fifth blank score sheet. 

In the Scottish Premiership, RANGERS are still top after they won 2-0 away to St Mirren. Rangers have extended their goal run to nineteen games and now have a total of 62 goals. CELTIC also won 3-0 at home to Dundee United. Celtic have taken their goals total up to 45. MOTHERWELL lost 2-0 at home to Kilmarnock and that is their eighth blank of the season. Aberdeen’s game against Livingston was cancelled due to frozen pitch.

Covid Taking it's Toll on Fixtures

        

It seems that the coronavirus is catching up with our football fixture here in the UK. We already had the Everton v Manchester City game cancelled on Monday night due to the virus, but last night another nine of our Golden Goals teams also had their games cancelled with signs of the virus. But with the games that were left in action, here are their results.

In the Premier league, MANCHESTER UNITED have moved up to second place after they scored a very late goal in their 1-0 home win against WOLVES. United are on 39 goals while Wolves picked up their sixth blank of the season. ARSENAL won 1-0 away to BRIGHTON and they are on 19 goals as Brighton picked up their fifth blank of the season. WEST HAM drew again but this time 0-0 away to Southampton. West Ham have now had three blank score sheets. LEEDS UNITED picked up another five goals in their 5-0 away win over WEST BROM. Leeds are now on a total of 31 goals while West Brom picked up their eighth blank score sheet.

In the Championship, DERBY picked up their biggest result of the season after they won 4-0 away to BIRMINGHAM. Derby have taken their goals tally to 15 goals while Birmingham picked up their second consecutive blank score sheet and now have ten for the season. MIDDLESBROUGH lost 2-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday and that is goal number 29 for them. LUTON won 2-1 at home to BRISTOL CITY and they are on 24 goals to City’s 29. NORWICH drew 1-1 at home to Q.P.R and that is goal number 31 for them. PRESTON won 2-0 at home to Coventry and they are now on a total of 36 goals. It’s 20 goals for ROTHERHAM as they lost 2-1 at home to Barnsley. CARDIFF lost 2-1 away to Wycombe and they are on 29 goals. STOKE drew 1-1 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST and they are on 30 goals to Forest’s 15.

In League One, WIGAN are now on 25 goals as they won 4-3 away to Burton. SWINDON lost 4-1 at home to MK Dons and they are on 26 goals. OXFORD UNITED won 3-2 away to PLYMOUTH. Oxford are now on a total of 28 goals while Plymouth are on 35.

In League Two, SOUTHEND lost 2-0 away to Leyton Orient and that is their twelfth blank of the season. SCUNTHORPE won 2-0 away to Walsall and they are on 24 goals. TRANMERE drew 1-1 away to Barrow and they are on 27 goals. CHELTENHAM picked up their fifth blank of the season as they drew 0-0 away to Colchester.

In the Scottish Championship, HEARTS won 3-1 at home to Arbroath and they are now on a total of 37 goals and now 16 goals in their last four games.

Three Teams Three Goals

In the Premier League, LEICESTER CITY drew 1-1 away to Crystal Palace to pick up their 29th goal of the season and they have moved up to second place.  CHELSEA drew 1-1 at home to ASTON VILLA after going a goal up by half time. Chelsea are on 38 goals while Vile are on 34 and up to fifth place.

Week Seventeen

In Week Seventeen of the competition, we had our Christmas Weekend  Jackpot of £10 and that all went to MICK LIDDLE, who has now become our sixteenth winner of the season.  Mick won the cash with a total of 10 goals. Mick has been with Golden Goals for twenty-four seasons now as he started with us back in the 1996/97 Season. In that season he finished in 92nd place with 206 goals. He did manage to pick up one weekend worth £2. Last season Mick finished in the winning frame in 11th place with a total of 311goals and £20 in cash. This season, he has been as high as fifth place in Weeks Three and Four. Mick has picked up just one blank score sheet at the weekend and his best team is Lincoln City. His winning teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS 

All of us picked up some goals this week once again and it has changed the order in the race for the cash, once again. It was GRENT PHILLIPS that picked up the most number of midweek goals with a total of ten goals. His teams are Chelsea,  Manchester City and Rangers. So here are the top five places this week. In the lead this week we have me, STEVE REEVE moving up from fifth place with a total of 47 goals. My combo is Brentford, Manchester City and Rangers picked up a total of eight goals. In second place we still have JED WEARDEN but he is now joined with PAUL MORAN (Mango) up from four. Both are now on a total of 46 goals. In third place we have TONY KING and ALICE STUBBS moving down from two with SANA-CARLA-LYANNA moving up from four. Coming back in we have RAYMOND HARROD and TIM WOOD all of them on a total of 45 goals. In fourth place we now have BOB SAWYER down from three. EMMA SAWYER up from five and CHRIS SETFORD moves back into the race. All are on a total of 44 goals. In fifth place all on a total of 43 goals we have RYAN FC down from one. KEITH THOMSON down from four with ANDY EYLES, DANIEL HUGHES,GRANT PHILLIPS, RICHARD WILLIAMS and DEAN ZANIOUS all coming back in. 

WEEKEND RESULTS 

This weekend it seems that the coronavirus has finally reached some of our teams this weekend and games were cancelled. We therefor had nine of our teams without a game over the weekend with another eight that failed to score any goals. The good news is that we all managed to pick up some goals from our combo’s, which means that this weekends average score went up from four of last weekend to 5 goals this week. The Highest score over the weekend was five goals and they came from HEARTS and LINCOLN CITY. Hearts from the Scottish Championship, are top of the league as they won 5-3 at home to Ayr United. Hearts have taken their goals tally up to 34. Lincoln City from League One are also top of the league after they won 5-1 at home to Burton Albion. Lincoln are now on a total of 44 goals. 

PREMIER LEAGUE 

So LIVERPOOL are still top this week after they drew 1-1 at home to WEST BROM.  Liverpool are on a total of 44 goals and they have now scored in all of their last twelve games. West Brom who are now second from bottom, picked up goal number 16. EVERTON are now in second place after they won 1-0 away to Sheffield United. Everton are on a total of 38 goals. LEICESTER CITY are in third place as they drew 2-2 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED in fourth place. Leicester are now on 28 goals while United are on 38 goals. It’s 30 goals for TOTTENHAM after they drew 1-1 away to WOLVES. Wolves are on 15 goals. ASTON VILLA pick up another three goals as they win 3-0 at home to Crystal palace. Villa are now on a total of 33 goals. FULHAM picked up their eighth blank of the season after they drew 0-0 at home to Southampton. ARSENAL won 3-1 at home to London rivals CHELSEA. Arsenal have taken their goals total to 18 while Chelsea are on 37. It’s 30 goals for MANCHESTER CITY as they win 2-0 at home against Newcastle. LEEDS UNITED are on 26 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Burnley. WEST HAM drew 2-2 at home against BRIGHTON and they are on 32 goals while Brighton are on 24 goals. 

CHAMPIONSHIP 

NORWICH are still top here after they lost their fourth league game in 2, 1-0 away to WATFORD. After a goal run of ten games, Norwich picked up their fourth blank of the season. Watford who are now in fifth place, picked up goal number 26. SWANSEA have moved up to second place as they win 2-0 away to Q.P.R. Swansea are on a total of 25 goals. BRENTFORD are now in fourth place after they won 3-2 away to CARDIFF. Brentford are now on 43 goals and have now scored in all of their last five games. Cardiff are on 28 goals. BRISTOL CITY won 2-1 at home to Wycombe and they are on 28 goals after they had failed to score in their previous three games. STOKE drew 0-0 away to Coventry and that is their eighth blank of the season. DERBY lost 1-0 at home to PRESTON and that is their twelfth blank while Preston hit goal number 34. NOTTINGHAM FOREST drew 0-0 at home to BIRMINGHAM to pick up their eleventh blank score sheet to Birmingham’s ninth. READING won 2-1 at home to LUTON and they are now on a total of 35 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. Luton after a two game dry spell for goals, are now on 22.  

LEAGUE ONE 

With Lincoln City now top, Portsmouth have moved down to second place after their game was cancelled. Hull remained in third place this week. CHARLTON drew 2-2 at home to PLYMOUTH and they are on 32 goals to Plymouths 33. CREWE drew 1-1 at home to FLEETWOOD TOWN. Crewe have scored a total of 30 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. Fleetwood are on 35 goals. OXFORD UNITED won 2-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon and they are on a total of 25 goals. WIGAN drew 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury and they are on 21 goals and second from bottom. 

LEAGUE TWO 

CHELTENHAM are our highest team here still in fourth place after they drew 1-1 at home to Stevenage. Cheltenham after no goals in their last three games are now on 37. BOLTON have picked up another three goals as they drew 3-3 away to Carlisle and have taken their goals tally to 28 goals. EXETER have extended their goal run to fifteen games after they drew 1-1 at home to Forest Green. HARROGATE TOWN won 2-1 away to Oldham and are now on a total of 24 goals. SALFORD CITY won 2-0 at home to Walsall and they are on 29 goals. SCUNTHORPE lost 3-2 at home to Mansfield and they are on 22 goals. SOUTHEND have won their fourth league game, 2-0 at home to Colchester. Southend are now on a total of 16 goals. TRANMERE ROVERS lost 1-0 at home to Bradford City and that is their ninth blank of the season. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES 

In the WILLIAM HILL SCOTTISH CUP First Round, we had just one team in this round. They were STENHOUSEMUIR and they won 4-1 at home to non-league Preston Athletic. With their biggest result of the season, Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 22 goals. 

In the Premiership, RANGERS won just 1-0 at home to Hibernian Rangers have still remained top and they are now on a total of 60 goals and they have now scored in all of their last eighteen games. CELTIC in second place still 16 points behind Rangers, won 3-0 away to Hamilton. Celtic are now on a total of 42 goals.  ABERDEEN are still in third place after they won 2-1 at home against St Johnstone. Aberdeen are now on a total of 28 goals. MOTHERWELL drew 1-1 away to Dundee United and they are on a total of 24 goals. 

In League One, FALKIRK have remained on top here after they drew 0-0 at home to Partick. That is now their fourth blank of the season and now two in a row. COVE RANGERS have moved up to fourth place after they won 1-0 away to Forfar. Rangers are now on a total of 18 goals.

Our Best team this week are RANGERS after they have now scored in all of their last eighteen league/cup games. 

Our worst team this weekend is DERBY who have scored just five goals in their last eleven games played. 

DERBY have picked up the most number of blank score sheets with twelve out of their twenty-two league/cup games. Our highest goal scorers in our 38th Season are RANGERS their 8-0 win at home against Hamilton in the league in Week Ten.

JED WEARDEN has remained at the top this weekend after he picked up a total of nine goals this week. Jed has now been at the top for a total of eight weeks and now two in a row. His teams are once again Brentford, Liverpool and Rangers. Keith Thomson is still in second place and now seven goals behind Jed. Keith picked up a total of five goals this week and his teams are Bournemouth, Liverpool and Rangers. 

At the other end at 116 we now have John Nicholls who now becomes our seventh player to land there this season. Johns teams picked up just three goals this week from his teams of Bristol City, Fulham and West Brom.  

No major change in the top ten going in to the New Year.

It’s that time of year once again where I would like to thank everyone who has taken a look at our blog over this troubled year. We have had over 47,000 hits to date and we hope that it will continue to interest football fans in this big world out there. More Carabao/League Cup Quarter-Final Results

 


In the other games of the Carabao/League Cup Quarter-Finals, we had all four of our teams in action. So we knew that only two of them would make it through to the next round. They were TOTTENHAM who won 3-1 away to STOKE. Tottenham have taken their goals total to 29 goals while Stoke hit goal number 29. MANCHESTER UNITED are also through after they won 2-0 away to EVERTON. United are now on a total of 36 goals while Everton picked up their third blank of the season. 

In the Scottish Premiership, RANGERS remain top after they won 3-0 away to St Johnstone and they are now on a total of 59 goals and look certain to be our first team to reach 100 goals this season. CELTIC are still in second place after they won 2-0 at home to Ross County. Celtic are still sixteen points behind rivals Rangers but they are now on a total of 39 goals. MOTHERWELL drew 0-0 at home to ABERDEEN. Motherwell have now had a total of seven blank score sheets to date while Aberdeen picked up their fifth.

Carabao/League Cup Quarter-Finals


In the Carabao/League Cup Quarter-Finals we have two of our Golden Goals teams through to the Semi-Finals. They are BRENTFORD who won 1-0 at home to Newcastle United. It is the first time in their 131-year club history that they have reached a major cup semi-final. They are on a total of 40 goals. MANCHESTER CITY are our other team through as they won 4-1 away to ARSENAL. City have taken their goals tally to 28 while Arsenal hit goal number 15.

Chelsea Moving Up

In the Premier League, CHELSEA have moved up to fifth place after they beat London rivals WEST HAM 3-0 at home. Chelsea are now on a total of 36 goals while West Ham, after a goal run of fifteen games have picked up their second blank of the season. WOLVES lost 2-1 away to Burnley and they are on a total of 14 goals.

Week Sixteen

In Week Sixteen of the competition, we had our fifteenth winner of the season who took all of the cash this weekend with a total of 14 goals and it goes to MARTIN CORBETT. Martin picked up the second highest weekend score, just one goal behind Barbara Barnes top score of 15 goals in Week Ten. Martin is in his fourth season with Golden Goals when he started in the 2017/18 Season. In that season he finished in 128th place out of 149 with a total of 239 goals. Last season he finished in the winning frame in 17th place with a total of 305 goals. This is the first time that he has been on the first page and the reason for that is that he picked up a total of twenty goals for the whole week. He has picked up a total of three blank score sheets to date. Martin’s best team is Liverpool and here are his teams

So here are the top five places this week. In the lead we still have RYAN FC but now with a total of 43 goals. In second place we still have TONY KING and ALICE STUBBS but joining them up from three last week are JED WEARDEN and JOHN FILTNESS. All on a total of 42 goals. In third place we have BOB SAWYER moving down from two on a total of 41 goals. In fourth place we have PAUL MORAN (Mango) down from two, SANA-CARLA-LYANNA down from three and KEITH THOMSON moving up from five, all are now on a total of 40 goals. In fifth place we still have STEVE REEVE but now I have  GARY BOLBERY and KEITH RATTLE with mw down from four with EMMA SAWYER coming back in. We are all on a total of 39 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS 

This weekend we had fifteen of our teams without a game over the weekend with another thirteen that failed to score any goals. The good news is that most of us managed to pick up some goals from their combo’s. That means that this weekends average score went up from three of last weekend to 4 goals this week. The Highest score over the weekend was six goals and they went to LIVERPOOL. They picked up another seven goals as they win 7-0 away to Crystal Palace. Liverpool have extended their goal run to eleven games with a total of 43 goals. Liverpool are just one of four teams that have a 100% record with Golden Goals as they have been with us for the full 38 Seasons. They were our top team in our first season where they finished on a total of 103 goals. Their highest score came in the 1985/86 Season with 126 goals. They have netted 100 or more goals in just six of their thirty-eight seasons. Last season they finished on a total of 96. Over the years they have netted a total of 3148 goals which gives them an average score of 82 goals per season to date. This season they have a total of 30 votes and have picked up just one blank score sheet. 

PREMIER LEAGUE 

So Liverpool are top this week after their big win, with LEICESTER CITY in second place after they won 2-0 away to TOTTENHAM. Leicester are on a total of 26 goals while Tottenham picked up their third blank of the season. MANCHESTER UNITED have moved up to third place as they pick up their biggest win of the season with a 6-2 home win against LEEDS UNITED. United have taken their goals tally up to 34 While Leeds are now on 25 goals. EVERTON won 2-1 at home to troubled ARSENAL. Everton are on a total of 37 goals while Arsenal picked up goal number 14. MANCHESTER CITY won their sixth league game with a 1-0 away win over Southampton. FULHAM drew 1-1 away to Newcastle and that is goal number 16 for them. After a two game dry spell, BRIGHTON drew 1-1 at home to Sheffield United and they are on a total of 22 goals. It’s 30 goals for ASTON VILLA as they won 3-0 away to WEST BROM. West Brom picked up their seventh blank of the season and they are second from bottom of the league.

WATFORD picked up their seventh blank of the season as they lost 2-0 away to Huddersfield. NOTTINGHAM FOREST drew 1-1 away to Millwall and they are on 14 goals. STOKE won 1-0 at home to Blackburn and they are now on 28 goals after a two game dry spell for goals. 

LEAGUE ONE 

Portsmouth have moved up to the top after their win on Friday night. LINCOLN CITY remained in second place after they won 4-0 away to Northampton. Lincoln after a two game dry spell for goals, have taken their goals total to 39. Hull are down to third place this week. CREWE have now scored in all of their last six games as they win 2-1 away to AFC Wimbledon. Crewe are on a total of 29 goals. ACCRINGTON STANLEY drew 0-0 at home to Blackpool and that is their third blank of the season. FLEETWOOD TOWN drew 1-1 at home to WIGAN and they are now on a total of 34 goals to Wigan’s 20. PLYMOUTH won 1-0 at home to MK Dons and they are on 31 goals. SWINDON drew 2-2 at home against CHARLTON and they are now on a total of 25 goals to Charlton’s 30. 

LEAGUE TWO  

CHELTENHAM are our highest team here but they have fallen down to fourth place after they lost 5-0 away to barrow. That is Cheltenham’s fourth blank score sheet and now no goals in their last three games. TRANMERE ROVERS won 3-0 away to BOLTON. Rovers are now on a total of 26 goals while Bolton picked up their sixth blank score sheet after a goal run of nine games. SCUNTHORPE picked up their eighth blank as they lost 1-0 away to Grimsby. HARROGATE TOWN lost 1-0 at home to SALFORD CITY and that is their ninth blank score sheet while Salford hit goal number 27. SOUTHEND drew 1-1 away to Mansfield. Although they are still bottom of the league, they are now on a total of 14 goals. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES 

In the Premiership, RANGERS went a goal down at half time against MOTHERWELL but managed to come back and win 3-1 at home. Rangers have remained top and they are now on a total of 56 goals and they have now scored in all of their last sixteen games. Motherwell are on a total of 23 goals. Rangers are now 16 points in front of Celtic who had no game this week. ABERDEEN are now in third place after they won 2-0 away to Kilmarnock and they are now on a total of 26goals. In League One, FALKIRK are still top here after they lost 1-0 at home to Airdrie. That is their third blank of the season. COVE RANGERS lost again 3-2 at home to Clyde and they have fallen down to fourth place. Rangers are now on a total of 17 goals. In League Two, STENHOUSEMIUR lost 2-0 at home to Elgin City and that is their third blank score sheet.

Manchester United up to Sixth Place

In the Premier League, MANCHESTER UNITED won 3-2 away to bottom of the table Sheffield United. United have moved up to sixth place in the league and they are now on a total of 28 goals. ASTON VILLA drew 0-0 at home to Burnley and that is their third blank score sheet of the season.

Liverpool Top of Premier League

In the Premier League, LIVERPOOL are now top of the league as they beat previous leaders TOTTENHAM 2-1 at home. Liverpool have now scored in all of their last ten games and are on a total of 36 goals. Tottenham picked up their 26th goal of the season. After a two game dry spell ARSENAL drew 1-1 at home to Southampton to give them a total of 13 goals. LEEDS UNITED picked up their biggest result of the season by winning 5-2 at home to Newcastle and that takes their goal tally to 23. EVERTON won 2-0 away to LEICESTER CITY and they are now on a total of 35 goals while Leicester picked up their fifth blank of the season. FULHAM drew 0-0 at home to BRIGHTON and that is their seventh blank to Brighton’s fourth and now two in a row. WEST HAM drew 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace and they have extended their goal run to fifteen games with a total of 30 goals. 

In the Championship, NORWICH are back on top as they win 2-1 away to READING. Norwich are on 28 goals and a goal run of nine games. Reading are on 32 goals and a goal run of eight games. DERBY have won their third league game as they win 2-0 at home to SWANSEA. Derby after a two game dry spell for goals are now on a total of 11 goals. Swansea picked up their fifth blank score sheet. CARDIFF won 3-2 at home to BIRMINGHAM and they are on 26 goals to Birmingham’s total of 16. MIDDLEBROUGH won 1-0 at home to LUTON and they are on 24 goals while Luton picked up their ninth blank score sheet. ROTHERHAM lost 2-1 away to Blackburn Rovers and they are now on a total of 19 goals. 

In the Scottish Betfred Cup Quarter-Finals, our only team left in this round are out as RANGERS lost 3-2 away to St Mirren. Rangers have extended their goal run to fifteen games and are now on a total of 53 goals.

Tuesday Night Results

In the Premier League, CHELSEA went a goal up before they lost 2-1 away to WOLVES. Chelsea are on a total of 33 goals while Wolves after a two game dry spell are now on a total of 13 goals. MANCHESTER CITY drew 1-1 at home to WEST BROM to pick up their 23rd goal of the season to West Broms 15th. 

In the Championship, STOKE drew 0-0 away to Q.P.R and that is their seventh blank and now two games in a row without a goal. PRESTON lost 2-1 away to Barnsley and they are on 32 goals. BOURNEMOUTH won 1-0 at home to Wycombe and that is goal number 36 for them. BRISTOL CITY lost 2-0 at home to Millwall and that is their seventh blank and now two in a row. City have scored just one goal in their last four games. Another win for NOTTINGHAM FOREST as they win 2-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Forest are now on a total of 13 goals. BRENTFORD drew 1-1 away to WATFORD and they are on a total of 36 goals while Watford are on 25. 

In League One, ACCRINGTON STANLEY won 2-0 away to Gillingham to take their goals total to 25. HULL lost 3-2 away to Blackpool and they are now on a total of 34 goals. CREWE won 2-1 at home to PLYMOUTH. Crewe are now on 27 goals to Plymouth’s 30. After a two game dry spell for goals, SWINDON are now on 23 goals as they lost 2-1 away to Doncaster. LINCOLN CITY lost 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury and that is their sixth blank of the season and now two in a row. SUNDERLAND drew 1-1 at home against AFC Wimbledon and they are on 23 goals. WIGAN picked up their eighth blank of the season after they lost 5-0 at home to Rochdale. PETERBOROUGH drew 1-1 away to MK Dons and that is goal number 32 for them. OXFORD UNITED have picked up another four goals as they win 4-0 at home to Northampton and they have taken their goals tally to 23. PORTSMOUTH drew 0-0 at home to FLEETWOOD TOWN and both teams have now had a total of seven blank score sheets. 

In League Two, SALFORD CITY drew 1-1 at home to Newport County and that is goal number 26 for them. SCUNTHORPE won 2-1 at home to Barrow and they are on 20 goals after a two game dry spell for goals. CHELTENHAM lost 1-0 at home against BOLTON and that is their third blank and now two games without a goal. Bolton picked up goal number 26. HARROGATE won 2-1 away to EXETER and they are on 22 goals while Exeter hit goal number 44 and have extended their goal run to fourteen games. SOUTHEND won 3-1 at home to Grimsby and they have taken their goals total to 13 goals.

Week Fifteen

In Week Fifteen of the competition, we had our fourteenth winner of the season who took all of the cash this weekend with a total of 12 goals and it goes to RYAN FC. In their very first season with us, Ryan FC jumps on to the front page for the very first time this season. They have picked up just one blank score sheet and this is their personal best weekend score. Portsmouth is their best team netting a total of 42 goals out of their total of 93. Our winners teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

We had just twenty-six of us that picked up some goals again this week and it has changed the order in the race for the cash once again. It was JOHN FILTNESS that picked up the most number of midweek goals with a total of four goals. His teams are Liverpool, Preston and Reading. So here are the top five places this week. In the lead we still have RYAN FC still with a total of 40 goals. In second place we still have PAUL MORAN (Mango) and BOB SAWYER but they are now joined with TONY KING and ALICE STUBBS both up from four and they are all on a total of 38 goals. In third place we still have JED WEARDEN but also we have SANA-CARLA-LYANNA moving up from five and coming in we have JOHN FILTNESS. All are on a total of 37 goals. In fourth place we still have GARY BOLBERY,  RAYMOND HARROD and KEITH RATTLE they are all with a total of 36 goals. In fifth place we still have STEVE REEVE, CHRIS SETFORD, KEAMUS SETNA, KEITH THOMSON, RICHARD WILLIAMS and coming back in we have LINDA ADKINS and JASON COOPER. All of us are on a total of 35 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS

This weekend we had just two of our teams without a game over the weekend with another twenty-four of them that failed to score any goals. The good news is that most of us managed to pick up some goals from their combo’s. That means that this weekends average score went down from five of last weekend to just 3 goals this week. The Highest score over the weekend was six goals and they went to the Scottish Championship where HEARTS won 6-1 at home to Queen of the South. Hearts have taken their goals tally to 29 goals. Hearts became our 11th Scottish team to join the competition which was in our season of 1986/87. In that season they finished on a total of 72 goals. We had to wait till the 2014/15 Season for them to score their highest amount of goals with 98. Last season (due to the covid season) they finished on a total of 48 goals. This is their 14th Season with Golden Goals and they have netted a total of 907 goals to date. That now gives them a total of 64 goals per season. They have picked up  just one blank score sheet at the weekend and they have just one vote this season. 

PREMIER LEAGUE

TOTTENHAM have remained top again this weekend of the table still on goals difference after they drew 1-1 away to Crystal palace. Tottenham are now on a total of 25 goals. LIVERPOOL are still in second place after they drew 1-1 away to FULHAM. Liverpool are on 34 goals and they have now scored in all of their last nine games. Fulham picked up goal number 15. LEICESTER CITY are now in third place after they won 3-0 at home against BRIGHTON. Leicester have taken their goals total up to 24 goals while Brighton picked up their third blank of the season. CHELSEA have fallen down to fifth place after they lost 1-0 away to EVERTON. Chelsea have now had a total of four blank score sheets while Everton picked up goal number 33. ARSENAL picked up their seventh blank and now two in a row after they lost 1-0 at home to Burnley.  ASTON VILLA won 1-0 away to WOLVES and they are now on a total of 27 goals while Wolves picked up their second consecutive blank score sheet with a total of five. MANCHESTER UNITED drew 0-0 at home to rivals MANCHESTER CITY. The local derby failed to give both sets of fans any early Christmas present. As City picked up their second blank score sheet, United have now had three. 

CHAMPIONSHIP

NORWICH are still top here after they won 2-1 away to Blackburn Rovers. Norwich are now on 26 goals and have now scored in all of their last eight games. BOURNEMOUTH remain in second place after they picked up their biggest win of the season by winning 5-0 at home to Huddersfield. Bournemouth are now on a total of 35 goals. SWANSEA are now in third place after they won 2-0 away to CARDIFF. Swansea are on 21 goals while Cardiff picked up their sixth blank of the season. WATFORD are on 24 goals after they won 1-0 away to BIRMINGHAM who picked up their eighth blank score sheet. DERBY drew 0-0 at home to STOKE which is now Derby’s eleventh blank score sheet to Stoke’s sixth. After a two game dry spell for goals, LUTON won 3-0 at home to PRESTON. Luton are on 21 goals while Preston picked up blank number seven. MIDDLESBROUGH won 3-0 at home to Millwall and they are now on a total of 23 goals after a two game dry spell for goals. BRENTFORD won 3-1 away to NOTTINGHAM FOREST to take their goals tally up to 35 while Forest hit goal number 11. READING have extended their goal run to seven games as they win 1-0 away to Q.P.R. Reading are on a total of 31 goals. ROTHERHAM won 2-0 at home to BRISTOL CITY and they are now on a total of 18 goals. City picked up their sixth and they have scored just one goal in their last three games. 

LEAGUE ONE

HULL are still top even though they lost 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury. Hull after a goal run of nineteen games, picked up their second blank of the season. LINCOLN CITY remained in second place after they lost 4-0 at home to SUNDERLAND. Lincoln picked up their fifth blank of the season while Sunderland picked up their biggest result of the season. They have taken their goals tally to 22 goals. PORTSMOUTH are in third place after they won 2-0 away to Ipswich. Portsmouth are now on a total of 42 goals. OXFORD UNITED picked up their eighth blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Blackpool. PLYMOUTH picked up their fifth blank fo the season after they lost 3-0 away to Bristol Rovers. CHARLTON picked up their biggest win of the season by winning 5-2 at home to AFC Wimbledon. CREWE won 2-1 at home to Northampton and they are now on 25 goals. PETERBOROUGH are now on 31 goals as they win 4-1 at home against Rochdale. SWINDON lost 1-0 at home to FLEETWOOD TOWN and that is their eighth blank and now two games in a row. Fleetwood picked up goal number 33 after they failed to score in their last two games. WIGAN won their fourth league game with their biggest result of the season by winning 4-3 at home to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. Wigan are now on a total of 19 goals while Accrington are on 23. 

LEAGUE TWO

CHELTENHAM are our highest team here still in second place as they drew 0-0 away to SALFORD CITY. That is Cheltenham’s second blank score sheet after a goal run of ten games. Salford picked up their seventh. EXETER are still in fifth place after they won 5-0 at home to TRANMERE ROVERS. Exeter are now on a total of 43 goals and they have extended their goal run to thirteen games. Rovers picked up their eighth blank score sheet after a goal run of eight games. HARROGATE TOWN lost 1-0 again away to Morecambe and that is their eighth blank score sheet and now two in a row. BOLTON lost 2-1 away to Walsall and they are now on a total of 24 goals and they have now scored in all of their last eight games. SOUTHEND after no goals in their last three previous games, won their second league game out of eighteen played with a 1-0 home win over SCUNTHORPE. Southend have now scored 10 goals while Scunthorpe picked up their seventh blank and now two in a row. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Premiership, RANGERS won 2-1 away to Dundee United. Rangers have remained top and they are now on a total of 51 goals and have scored in all of their last fourteen games. CELTIC are still thirteen points behind Rangers after they won 2-0 at home to Kilmarnock. Celtic are on a total of 37 goals. ABERDEEN are still in fourth place as they win 2-0 at home to Ross County and they are now on a total of 24goals. MOTHERWELL lost 1-0 at home to St Mirren and that is blank number six after a goal run of six games.

In the Championship, HEARTS picked up another six goals this season as they win 6-1 at home against Queen of the South. Hearts are now on a total of 29 goals and top of the league. 

In League One, FALKIRK are still top here after they won 3-0 away to Clyde. Falkirk are on a total of 26 goals. COVE RANGERS have fallen down to third place after they lost again 1-0 away to Dumbarton. That is Rangers third blank of the season.

In League Two, STENHOUSEMIUR drew 2-2 at home to Stranraer and are now on a total of 18 goals.

Our worst team this weekend is SOUTHEND who have scored just six goals in their last twelve games played. 

DERBY and SOUTHEND have both picked up the most number of blank score sheets with eleven each. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 38th Season are RANGERS their 8-0 win at home against Hamilton in the league in Week Ten. 

KEITH THOMSON has returned to the top this weekend after he picked up a total of eight goals all coming from the weekend. Keith has now been at the top for a total of two weeks this season with his first week being in Week Two. Keith has Bournemouth, Liverpool and Rangers. Down to second place on goal difference is last weeks leader Jed Wearden. Jed picked up a total of six goals at the weekend and his teams are Brentford, Liverpool and Rangers. At the other end at 116 we still have Jacqui Rattle who has remained there for her eighth weekend running. Jacqui teams failed to score any goals this week from her teams of Arsenal, Manchester City and Wolves.
