Week Fourteen

In Week Fourteen of the competition and we had three winners to share the cash this weekend with a total of 10 goals each. Two are first time winners of the season who are MARK JOHNSTON and JED WEARDEN which brings our winners total up to thirteen. Our third winner picked up her third win of the season and they are BARABARA BARNES (2). Barbara last won in Week Ten with her second combo and her second combo has done it again for her. Barbara has now picked up a total of three blank score sheets over the weekends to date and we see Barbara back in third place this weekend. Mark is in his very first season with Golden Goals  and this weekend we see mark at his highest to date at number four. He has picked up three blank score sheets and has now picked up a total of twenty goals in the last two weeks. Jed has been with us since the 2010/11 Season where he finished in 73rd place on 250 goals. Last season he finished in 97th place with a total of 243 goals. This season is his best on record as he has now been top for the last six weeks. He has picked up a total of two blank score sheets and this is Jed’s personal best weekend score. Our three winners teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

We had over half of us that picked up some goals again this week and it has changed the order in the race for the cash. It was KEITH RATTLE that picked up the most number of midweek goals with a total of eight goals. His teams are Bournemouth, Chelsea and Middlesbrough. So here are the top five places this week. In the lead we still have RYAN FC now with a total of 40 goals. In second place we still have PAUL MORAN (Mango) and BOB SAWYER both on a total of 38 goals. In third place we still have JED WEARDEN on a total of 37 goals. In fourth place we still have RAYMOND HARROD but he now has GARY BOLBERY, TONY KING, KEITH RATTLE and ALICE STUBBS joining him and they are all with a total of 36 goals. In fifth place we still have STEVE REEVE and SANA-CARLA-LYANNA and joining them now we have CHRIS SETFORD down from three with KEAMUS SETNA, KEITH THOMSON and RICHARD WILLIAMS moving up. All of us are on a total of 35 goals.  

WEEKEND RESULTS

This weekend we had just four of our teams without a game over the weekend with another fourteen of them that failed to score any goals. The good news is that all of us managed to pick up some goals from their combo’s. The weekends average score went down from six of last weekend to 5 goals this week. The Highest score over the weekend was five goals and they went to CHELTENHAM from League two. Cheltenham won 5- 3 at home to EXETER to pick up their highest result of the season. They have taken their goals tally to 36 goals and have now scored in all of their last ten games. Exeter are on a total of 38 goals and they have extended their goal run to twelve games. Cheltenham became our 94th voted English team when they started with us back in the 1999/00 Season, on where they finished on a total of 55 goals which is their highest to date. This is their second season with Golden Goals and they have now scored a total of 91 goals which gives them an average score of 45.5 goals per season. This season they again have just one vote and they have had just one blank score sheet in their twenty games played. 

PREMIER LEAGUE

TOTTENHAM have remained top again this weekend of the table still on goals difference after they won 2-0 in the North London derby against ARSENAL at home. Tottenham are now on a total of 24 goals. Arsenal picked up their fifth blank of the season and now just two goals in their last seven games. LIVERPOOL are still in second place after they won 4-0 at home to WOLVES. Liverpool are on 33 goals and they have now scored in all of their last eight games. Wolves picked up their  fourth blank score sheet. CHELSEA are in third place after they won 3-1 at home to LEEDS UNITED. Chelsea are now on a total of 32 goals while Leeds picked up goal number 17. LEICESTER CITY won 2-1 away to Sheffield United and they are now on 21 goals. WEST BROM lost 5-1 at home to Crystal Palace and they are now on 13 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED won 3-1 away to WEST HAM to push their goals total to 25 goals. West Ham picked up goal number 27 and they have extended their goal run to thirteen games. MANCHESTER CITY won 2-0 at home to FULHAM and they are now on 22 goals while Fulham picked up their sixth blank of the season. EVERTON drew 1-1 away to Burnley and they are on 32 goals.  

CHAMPIONSHIP

NORWICH are still top here after they won 2-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Norwich are now on 22 goals and have now scored in all of their last six games. Bournemouth remain in second place after their win on Friday night. READING are now in third place after they won 2-0 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST. Reading are on a total of 29 goals while Forest picked up their tenth blank of the season and now five in a row. BRENTFORD drew 2-2 at home against Blackburn and they are now on a total of 32 goals. BIRMINGHAM picked up goal number 12 as they win 1-0 away to BRISTOL CITY. City have now had a total of five blank score sheets. ROTHERHAM lost 3-1 away to Coventry and they are on 16 goals. PRESTON are on 28 goals as they drew 2-2 at home against Wycombe. STOKE won 1-0 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH and that is goal number 26 for Stoke while Brough picked up their seventh blank score sheet. SWANSEA won 2-0 at home to LUTON and they are now on a total of 19 goals while Luton picked up their seventh blank of the season. WATFORD picked up their sixth blank and now two in a row after they lost 1-0 at home to CARDIFF who are now on 21 goals. DERBY are now second from bottom after their second league win out of sixteen played with a 1-0 away win over Millwall. Derby are on 9 goals.  

LEAGUE ONE

HULL are top as they drew 1-1 away to OXFORD UNITED. Hull are now on 32 goals and a goal run of nineteen games. Oxford picked up goal number 19. LINCOLN CITY are in second place after they won 2-0 away to Rochdale to bring their goals tally to 35 goals. It’s 20 goals for ACCRINGTON STANLEY after they won 2-1 at home against MK Dons. CREWE drew 1-1 away to Burton and they are now on 23 goals. FLEETWOOD TOWN picked up their sixth blank of the season and now two in a row this week as they lost 1-0 at home to Blackpool. SWINDON lost 2-0 away to Gillingham and that is blank number seven for them. PLYMOUTH lost 2-1 at home to Ipswich and that is goal number 29. It’s 40 goals for PORTSMOUTH as they win 2-0 at home to PETERBOROUGH. Borough picked up their fifth blank of the season. CHARLTON drew 1-1 away to Shrewsbury and they are on a total of 23 goals. WIGAN are bottom of the league after they won 1-0 away to SUNDERLAND. Wigan are on 15 goals while Sunderland picked up their fourth blank of the season.  

LEAGUE TWO

Cheltenham are our highest team here in second place with Exeter in fifth place. SALFORD CITY won 1-0 away to Barrow and that is goal number 25 for them. BOLTON are on a total of 23 goals and have now scored in all of their last seven games as they lost 6-2 at home to Port Vale. HARROGATE TOWN lost 1-0 at home to Forest Green and that is their seventh blank score sheet. SCUNTHORPE won 2-0 at home to Leyton Orient and they are now on 18 goals. TRANMERE ROVERS lost 3-1 at home to Walsall and they are on a total of 23 goals and have now scored in all of their last eight games. SOUTHEND are still rock bottom here after they drew 0-0 away to Stevenage. Southend picked up their eleventh blank score sheet and now three in a row. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Premiership, RANGERS won their fourteenth league game out of sixteen played as they win 4-0 away to Ross county. Rangers have remained top and have now scored a total of 20 goals in their last four games. They are now on a total of 49 goals and have scored in all of their last thirteen games. CELTIC are now thirteen points behind Rangers as they drew 1-1 at home to St Johnstone. Celtic picked up goal number 35. ABERDEEN drew 1-1 away to St Mirren and they have moved down to fourth place with a total of 22 goals. 

In the Championship, HEARTS won 2-0 away to Greenock Morton and they are now on a total of 23 goals and top of the league.

In League One, FALKIRK are now top here after they won 2-1 at home to Peterhead. Falkirk are on 23 goals. COVE RANGERS are in second place after they lost 2-1 at home against Montrose. Rangers picked up goal number 15.

In League Two, STENHOUSEMIUR won 2-1 at home to Brechin and are now on a total of 16 goals. 

Our BEST three teams this week with Golden Goals. They are

OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE 

NOTTINGHAM FOREST (9) SOUTHEND (9) DERBY (9) Total of 27 goals 

Our Best team is HULL after scoring in all of their last nineteen league/cup games out of 20 played. They have a total of 32 goals which gives them an average score of 1.6 goals per game. 

Our worst team this weekend is NOTTINGHAM FOREST who have scored just four goals in their last eight games played. They have failed to score in their last five games. 

SOUTHEND have picked up the most number of blank score sheets with eleven out of seventeen games played. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 38th Season are RANGERS their 8-0 win at home against Hamilton in the league in Week Ten. JED WEARDEN has remained at the top this weekend for his sixth consecutive week. Jed picked up a total of twelve goals from the week. Jed’s teams are Brentford, Liverpool and Rangers. He is just two goals in front of Keith Thomson who has remains in second place this week. Keith has Bournemouth, Liverpool and Rangers.

At the other end at 116 we still have Jacqui Rattle who has remained there for her seventh weekend running. Jacqui picked up just two goals this weekend from her teams of Arsenal, Manchester City and Wolves.

A big change in the table this week.
