Week Sixteen

In Week Sixteen of the competition, we had our fifteenth winner of the season who took all of the cash this weekend with a total of 14 goals and it goes to MARTIN CORBETT. Martin picked up the second highest weekend score, just one goal behind Barbara Barnes top score of 15 goals in Week Ten. Martin is in his fourth season with Golden Goals when he started in the 2017/18 Season. In that season he finished in 128th place out of 149 with a total of 239 goals. Last season he finished in the winning frame in 17th place with a total of 305 goals. This is the first time that he has been on the first page and the reason for that is that he picked up a total of twenty goals for the whole week. He has picked up a total of three blank score sheets to date. Martin’s best team is Liverpool and here are his teams

LIVERPOOL 7, MANCHESTER CITY 1, MANCHESTER UNITED 6

100 MIDWEEK GOALS

All of us picked up some goals this week and it has changed the order in the race for the cash once again. It was BOB BURGIN (Stalky) that picked up the most number of midweek goals with a total of nine goals. His teams are Leeds United, Manchester United and West Ham. So here are the top five places this week. In the lead we still have RYAN FC but now with a total of 43 goals. In second place we still have TONY KING and ALICE STUBBS but joining them up from three last week are JED WEARDEN and JOHN FILTNESS. All on a total of 42 goals. In third place we have BOB SAWYER moving down from two on a total of 41 goals. In fourth place we have PAUL MORAN (Mango) down from two, SANA-CARLA-LYANNA down from three and KEITH THOMSON moving up from five, all are now on a total of 40 goals. In fifth place we still have STEVE REEVE but now I have  GARY BOLBERY and KEITH RATTLE with mw down from four with EMMA SAWYER coming back in. We are all on a total of 39 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

This weekend we had fifteen of our teams without a game over the weekend with another thirteen that failed to score any goals. The good news is that most of us managed to pick up some goals from their combo’s. That means that this weekends average score went up from three of last weekend to 4 goals this week. The Highest score over the weekend was six goals and they went to LIVERPOOL. They picked up another seven goals as they win 7-0 away to Crystal Palace. Liverpool have extended their goal run to eleven games with a total of 43 goals. Liverpool are just one of four teams that have a 100% record with Golden Goals as they have been with us for the full 38 Seasons. They were our top team in our first season where they finished on a total of 103 goals. Their highest score came in the 1985/86 Season with 126 goals. They have netted 100 or more goals in just six of their thirty-eight seasons. Last season they finished on a total of 96. Over the years they have netted a total of 3148 goals which gives them an average score of 82 goals per season to date. This season they have a total of 30 votes and have picked up just one blank score sheet.
