Week Thirty-Eight

In Week Thirty-Eight it was JOHN DAVIES and STEPHEN STUBBS who picked up the highest weekend score with 8 goals each. John still has all of his teams in action who are Brentford, Fulham and Tottenham, while Stephen has just two, Chelsea and Fulham. Most of our teams have now played eight or more games each and we are nearly at the end of the season.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had a total of 21 of our teams in action over the weekend out of them five failed to score any goals. The highest score that we had came from the Championship where FULHAM won 5-3 at home against SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY which is their highest score of the season. Fulham are now on a total of 65 goals while Wednesday are on 61.

FA CUP Semi-Finals
We had all four teams in this round and we could of had a Manchester final or a North v South final but no, it turned into a London derby final.  ARSENAL beat MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 at Wembley and they are now on a total of 72 goals while City picked up their sixth blank of the season. In the other game, CHELSEA won 3-1 against MANCHESTER UNITED also at Wembley. Chelsea are now on a total of 82 goals while United picked up their 84th goal and they have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. So Arsenal and Chelsea in the final which is to be played on 1st August.

PREMIER LEAGUE
With Champions Liverpool top and Manchester City in second place, Chelsea remain in third place with LEICESTER CITY still in fourth place after they lost 3-0 away to TOTTENHAM. Leicester picked up their ninth blank of the season while Tottenham take their goals tally up to 68. Manchester United are in fifth place.

CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS UNITED have become Champions this week after West Brom lost to Huddersfield during midweek. The Champions carry on as they win 3-1 away to DERBY after going a goal down. Leeds are now on a total of 78 goals while Derby hit goal number 65. West Brom remain in second place.
In the Play-offs we still have all four teams with BRENTFORD in third place as they lost 1-0 away to STOKE. Brentford after scoring in all of their last fifteen games have picked up their thirteenth blank score sheet. Stoke are now on a total of 62 goals. Fulham remain in fourth place with NOTTINGHAM FOREST are in fifth place after they lost 1-0 away to BARNSLEY, second from bottom. Forest picked up their eleventh blank of the season while Barnsley are now on a total of 52 goals. CARDIFF are still in sixth place after they won 3-1 away to MIDDLESBROUGH. Cardiff are now on a total of 75 goals while Brough hit goal number 50.
Meanwhile BLACKBURN ROVERS won 4-3 at home to Reading. Blackburn with their highest score in restart are now on a total of 69 goals. LUTON won 1-0 away to Hull and they are now on a total of 57 goals. PRESTON won 2-0 at home against BIRMINGHAM and they are now on 66 goals while Birmingham picked up their seventeenth blank of the season.
QUEENS PARK RANGERS are now on a total of 74 goals as they won 4-3 at home to Millwall.

Our BEST three teams this week with Golden Goals are

OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE

PETERHEAD (33) STENHOUSEMUIR (36) MK DONS (42) Total of 111 goals

Our highest goal scorers in our 37th Season is still LEICESTER CITY from Week Thirteen after they won 9-0 away to Southampton in the league.  

BRADLEY CLARK is in his third weekend at the top after he picked up a total of just three goals this week from his combination of  Celtic, Liverpool and Manchester City. This is now his eighth week over the season. Bradley has now moved up from 15th place to 13th in our Champions League this week. He has beaten joint winners  Paul locker and Eddie Draper’s score of 311 from the 1998/99 Season and Janice Conway’s score of 312 goals in the 1996/97 Season. Bradley is still five goals clear of Chris Dicker who has moved into second place as he picks up a total of seven goals this week all coming from his Manchester teams, City and United. Chris’s other team was Celtic.
At the other end at 123 we still have John  Wood’s Lucifer for his third weekend. Lucifer teams are Accrington Stanley, Peterhead and Preston. John picked up two goals from Preston at the weekend. John’s Lucifer has started to move up our Losers League to 36th place as he has now beaten RU Shaw’s score of 146 goals from the 1995/96 Season.

Well we are nearly at  the end of our 37th Season of Golden Goals, but here are this weekends top ten.
