In Week Thirty-Six we
had three players that picked up the highest weekend score with 8 goals each.
They were BARBARA BARNES (2), PHIL
COLLINS and JACQUI WILLIAMS. Most of the teams have now played four or
more games each and the season is rapidly coming to the end.
WEEKEND
RESULTS
We had a
total of 28 of our teams in action over the weekend but out of them nine failed
to score any goals. The highest score that we had came
from the Primer League where MANCHESTER UNITED won 5-2 at home to
Bournemouth. The goals has taken their goals tally up to 76 and they have now
scored in all of their last ten games, with five of them in the restart.
PREMIER LEAGUE
Champions LIVERPOOL won 2-0 at
home to ASTON VILLA. Liverpool are now on a total of 83 goals while
Villa, third from bottom, tenth blank score sheet and now two in a row. Villa
have scored just two goals in their last six games. MANCHESTER CITY are now twenty-three points behind
Liverpool as they lost 1-0 away to Southampton. That is City’s fifth blank of the season. LEICESTER CITY are now on a total of 79 goals as they win
3-0 at home against Crystal Palace. CHELSEA are in fourth place as they
win 3-0 at home to Watford and they are now on a total of 75 goals. Chelsea
have scored in all of their five restart games. Manchester United are in
fifth place with WOLVES in sixth place after they lost 2-0 at home to ARSENAL. That
is Wolves first blank in the restart and eight over the season. Arsenal are now
on a total of 66 goals. NEWCASTLE drew 2-2 at home to WEST HAM
and are now on 47 goals to West Ham’s 44. SHEFFIELD UNITED drew 1-1 away
to Burnley to pick up their 43rd goal of the season.
CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS
UNITED have remained on top as
they win 3-1 away to BLACKBURN ROVERS. Leeds are now on a total of 68
goals while Rovers after two games with out a goal, hit goal number 61. WEST
BROM are in second place and just one point behind the leaders, they won
4-2 at home to Hull. West Brom have scored a total of seven goals this week and
are now on a total of 76.
In the Play-offs we
still have all four teams with BRENTFORD in third place as they win 3-0
at home to Wigan. Brentford are now on a total of 75 goals and have now scored
in all of their last twelve games. FULHAM are in fourth place as they
win 1-0 at home against BIRMINGHAM. Fulham are now on 57 goals while
Birmingham picked up their second blank of the week and now fifteen over the
season. NOTTINGHAM FOREST are down to fifth place after they drew 1-1
away to DERBY. Forest are now on a total of 58 goals while Derby picked
up their 62nd. CARDIFF are still in sixth place after they
won 1-0 away to Bristol City. Cardiff take their goals tally to 68.
Meanwhile QUEENS PARK RANGERS won 1-0 away to MIDDLESBROUGH
and that is goal number 69 for them and for Brough it’s their fourteenth blank
of the season. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY lost 2-1 away to Swansea and they are
now on 54 goals. HUDDERSFIELD drew 0-0 at home to PRESTON and that
was their twelfth blank of the season to Preston’s fifteenth and now two in a
row. LUTON picked up their first blank in the restart but fourteenth
over the season as they lost 5-0 at home to reading. After a two game dry spell
for goals, STOKE won 4-0 at home to BARNSLEY to take their goals
tally to 58. Barnsley picked up their fifteenth blank of the season.

Our highest
goal scorers in our 37th Season is still LEICESTER
CITY from Week Thirteen after they won 9-0 away to Southampton in
the league.
BRADLEY CLARK has moved back on top after he picked up a total of six goals this
week from his combination of Celtic, Liverpool and Manchester City. This
is now his sixth week over the season. Bradley has moved up to 27th
place in our Champions League by over taking
Ricky Wood/ Gerry Kyei’s joint winners score of 293 goals in the 2007/08
Season. He has also passed Tony Axford’s score of 297 goals from the 1991/92
Season. He is now just one goal clear of last weeks leader Guy Dowsett in
second place as he picks up a total of four goals this week with his combo of
Celtic, Cove Rangers and Manchester City.
At the other end at 123 we have our
fifth player to land there this season and it’s John Wood’s Lucifer. Lucifer teams
are Accrington Stanley, Peterhead and Preston. With Preston still in action,
John’s Lucifer is still in 37th place in our Losers League.
