Week Thirty-Seven

In Week Thirty-Seven it was RAYMOND HARROD that picked up the highest weekend score with 9 goals. Raymond still has all of his teams in action and he even picked up ten goals in midweek. This is the highest that he has been this season. His teams are Brentford, Liverpool and Manchester City. Most of our teams have now played six or more games each and we are nearly at the end of the season.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had a total of 25 of our teams in action over the weekend out of them five failed to score any goals. The highest score that we had came from the Primer League where MANCHESTER CITY won 5-0 away to Brighton. City have picked up a total of ten goals this week and they are now on a total of 116 goals. Although they are now our top scoring team this season, it is via default as the Scottish season has ended long ago now. 

PREMIER LEAGUE
Champions LIVERPOOL drew their third league game of the season 1-1 at home to Burnley. Liverpool went a goal up in the first half and they are now on a total of 87 goals. Manchester City are still in second place with CHELSEA now in third place even though they lost 3-0 away to SHEFFIELD UNITED. After a goal run of ten games, Chelsea picked up their seventh blank of the season. Sheffield have taken their goals total to 47. LEICESTER CITY are now down to fourth place after they went 1-0 up against Bournemouth but finally lost 4-1 away. Leicester are now on 81 goals. Manchester United are in fifth place with WOLVES in sixth place after they won 3-0 at home to EVERTON. After a two game dry spell for goals, Wolves are now on 50 goals. Everton picked up their eleventh blank score sheet and now only one goal in their last three games. ASTON VILLA won 2-0 against Crystal Palace at home and they are now on a total of 58 goals. WEST HAM are still in their relegation battle but  won 4-0 away to relegated Norwich. West ham are now on 48 goals. NEWCASTLE are also on 48 goals as they lost 2-1 away to Watford. In the London derby, TOTTENHAM beat rivals ARSENAL 2-1 at home. Tottenham are now on 62 goals to Arsenal’s 68.

CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS UNITED have remained on top this weekend and are now three points in the lead as they win 1-0 away to Swansea with a late goal. Leeds are now on a total of 74 goals. WEST BROM are in second place as they drew 1-1 away to BLACKBURN ROVERS. West Brom are now on a total of 79 while Rovers hit goal number 65.
In the Play-offs we still have all four teams with BRENTFORD in third place as they win 3-1 away to DERBY. Brentford are now on a total of 80 goals and have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. Derby are now on 63 goals. Fulham are in fourth place with NOTTINGHAM FOREST are in fifth place after they drew 1-1 away to PRESTON. Forest are now on a total of 59 goals while Preston picked up their 64th goal. Cardiff are still in sixth place.
Meanwhile it’s 60 goals for STOKE after they won 2-0 at home against BIRMINGHAM. Birmingham picked up their sixteenth blank of the season and now just one goal in their last four games. BARNSLEY drew 0-0 at home to Wigan and they are still bottom of the league with their sixteenth blank score sheet. MIDDLESBROUGH lost 3-1 away to Bristol City and they are now on a total of 47 goals. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY won 3-0 away to QUEENS PARK RANGERS and they are now on a total of 58 goals while Rangers picked up their fifteenth blank and now two in a row.

Our highest goal scorers in our 37th Season is still LEICESTER CITY from Week Thirteen after they won 9-0 away to Southampton in the league.  

BRADLEY CLARK is in his second weekend at the top after he picked up a total of fourteen goals this week from his combination of  Celtic, Liverpool and Manchester City. This is now his seventh week over the season.
Bradley has catapulted up from 27th place to 15th in our Champions League this week. He is now five goals clear of Guy Dowsett still in second place as he picks up a total of ten goals this week all coming from Manchester City. Guy’s other team were Celtic and Cove Rangers.
At the other end at 123 we still have John  Wood’s Lucifer for his second weekend. Lucifer teams are Accrington Stanley, Peterhead and Preston. With Preston still in action, John’s Lucifer is still in 37th place in our Losers League.
