Week Thirty-Nine

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had the very last games of the English Premier League and there were no real surprises in the results.

PREMIER LEAGUE
Champions LIVERPOOL won their last game 3-1 away to NEWCASTLE after going a goal down. Liverpool finished their season on a total of 96 goals. Newcastle picked on their 50th goal of the season. MANCHESTER CITY finished in second place as they won 5-0 at home to Norwich. City have taken their final goals tally to 127 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED finished in third place after their 2-0 away win over LEICESTER CITY who finished in fifth place. United finish their season on a total of 87 goals and a goal run of their last sixteen games. Leicester picked up their tenth blank of the season. CHELSEA moved down to fourth place after they won 2-0 at home to WOLVES. Chelsea are now on a total of 87 goals while Wolves picked up blank number ten. TOTTENHAM finished in sixth place as they drew 1-1 away to Crystal Palace. To end their season with a total of 69 goals. ARSENAL won 3-2 at home against Watford and they are now on a total of 75 goals. EVERTON finished on a total of 54 goals as they lost 3-1 at home to Bournemouth. SHEFFIELD UNITED lost 3-1 away to Southampton and they have ended on a total of 48 goals. WEST HAM drew their last game 1-1 at home to ASTON VILLA and they finished on 53 goals to Villa’s 61. 

CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY-OFFS
We were left with just three of the four teams left in the play-offs and to start off the first round leg games, BRENTFORD lost their first leg game 1-0 away to Swansea. That is Brentfords fourteenth blank score sheet.

Our highest goal scorers in our 37th Season is still LEICESTER CITY from Week Thirteen after they won 9-0 away to Southampton in the league.  

BRADLEY CLARK is in his fourth weekend at the top after he picked up a total of seventeen goals this week from his combination of  Celtic, Liverpool and Manchester City. This is now his ninth week over the season. Bradley has now moved up from 13th place to 8th in our Champions League this week. He has beaten five past Champions. Bradley is now nine goals clear of Ricky Miles who has moved into second place this week as he picks up a total of fourteen goals this week from his combo of  Chelsea and Manchester City his other team was Celtic.
At the other end at 123 we still have John  Wood’s Lucifer for his fourth weekend. Lucifer teams were Accrington Stanley, Peterhead and Preston. John picked up a single goal from Preston in midweek. John’s Lucifer has remained in our Losers League at 36th place.
