In Week Twenty-Five of the competition we had a total of four winners this
weekend to share the £6 cash prize money. Three of them have already won some
cash this season and one becomes our twenty-sixth winner of the season with
them all winning on a score of 8 goals. Our winners are BARBARA BARNES (2) who picks up her
fifth win of the season, MICHAEL FISHER and COLIN WEBB both
picked up their second win with ROSE COLLINS picking up her first.
Barbara has once again won with her second combo and has now won £21 in cash. The
last time that Barbara won was in Week Twenty-One with her second shared win. Third
place is still her best position to date being there a total of five weeks over
the season. She still has the highest scoring recorded for this season with 15
goals in Week Ten and has still had a total of three blank score sheets. Michael also last won in Week Twenty-One with that shared win. Michael has now
been at number two for the last two weeks and has also had a total of three
blank score sheets. Colin last won in Week Twenty picking up the full amount. Ninth is still his
highest position and he has had a total of just two blank score sheets. Ross is in her third season with us and in her very first of 2018/19 Season,
Rose finished in 56th place with a total of 296 goals. Last season Rose
finished in 52nd place with 280 goals but she picked up two weekend
wins worth a total of £15. This season she has been as high as fifth place back
in Week Thirteen and has picked up just two blank score sheets. Their winning teams are

MIDWEEK GOALS
All but three
of us picked up some goals this week once again and it has changed the order in
the race for the cash again. We have just four players left to hit the magic 50
goal mark this week. The highest midweek score that we had was 9 goals and they
went to JAMES
SOMERVILLE. They came from Celtic 1, Hull 5 and Manchester City 3. So here are
the top six places this week. In first place with 91 goals we still have last
weeks leader RAYMOND HARROD. Ray needs
just nine more goals to win the cash. In second place moving down from one last
weekend we have MARK GREGORY with a
total of 90 goals. In third place moving down from two we have CHRIS SETFORD on a total of 89 goals.
In Fourth place on 86 goals is MICHAEL
JACOBSON down from three. Moving in to fifth place this week we have JAMES SOMERVILLE with 84 goals. In sixth place we have CHRIS BOLBERY and CHRIS
DICKER both moving down from
four with A&A. CLARK moving back
in to the race all with a total of 83 goals.
WEEKEND
RESULTS
Spring is
nearly in the air and we had just one game cancelled due to the weather this
weekend. We had a total of nine of our teams without a game over the weekend
with another sixteen that failed to score any goals. The good news is that only
four players failed to pick up any goals at the weekend. After getting yet another
fantastic set of midweek results, the teams seem to be having a rest at the
weekends. The weekends average score fell from five of last weekend down to just
2 goals this weekend. The Highest
score over the weekend was four goals and we had two teams that picked them up.
They came from the Championship where
CARDIFF CITY won 4-0 at home to PRESTON.
Cardiff are now on a total of 46 goals and have now scored in all of their last
seven games. Preston picked up their thirteenth blank and now two in a row. RANGERS won 4-1 at home to Dundee United and they are now on a total
of 79 goals and look set in getting another 100 goals this season.
PREMIER LEAGUE
We now have the top twelve teams here with MANCHESTER CITY
remaining at the top after they won 1-0 away to ARSENAL. City are now on
a total of 70 goals and have extended their goal run to nineteen games. Arsenal
picked up their twelfth blank of the season. MANCHESTER UNITED are still
in second place after they won 3-1 at home to Newcastle. United are now on a
total of 66 goals. LEICESTER CITY are still in third place after they won
2-1 at away to ASTON VILLA. Leicester are now on a total of 52 goals
while Villa picked up goal number 44. WEST HAM are now in fourth place after
they beat their London rivals TOTTENHAM 2-1 at home. West Ham and
Tottenham are both on a total of 53 goals. CHELSEA drew 1-1 away to
Southampton after going a goal down. Chelsea are on a total of 56 goals but
they have now scored in all of their last six games. WEST BROM picked up
their twelfth blank of the season as they drew 0-0 away to Burnley. FULHAM
won 1-0 at home to Sheffield United and they are on 26 goals. EVERTON beat
LIVERPOOL 2-0 in this local derby and Everton are now on a total of 59
goals. Liverpool picked up their seventh blank of the season.
CHAMPIONSHIP
NORWICH are still top here and now seven
points ahead after they won 1-0 at home to ROTHERHAM. Norwich are on a
total of 45 goals. Rotherham picked up their ninth blank and now two in a week.
BRENTFORD are still in second place but they have lost their third
league game 2-0 away to Coventry. Brentford picked up their seventh blank score
sheet.
In the Play-Off’s
we still have all four teams with Watford moving up to third place
after their win on Friday night. SWANSEA dropped down to fourth place
after they lost 4-1 away to Huddersfield. Swansea are on 45 goals but they have
extended their goal run to ten games. READING are still in fifth place
after they lost 2-0 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH. As Reading picked up their
ninth blank of the season, Brough are now on 41 goals. BOURNEMOUTH remained
in sixth place this week after they lost 2-1 away to QPR. Bournemouth
are on a total of 54 goals.
Meanwhile BRISTOL CITY lost 1-0 at home to Barnsley and that is their fifteenth
blank and they have now failed to score in their last five games. After not
scoring in their last two games, NOTTINGHAM FOREST won 1-0 at home to
Blackburn and they are on 28 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, BIRMINGHAM
are on 22 goals as they win 1-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday. STOKE won
3-0 at home against LUTON and they are on 41 goals while Luton picked up
their fifteenth blank and now two in a row.
LEAGUE ONE
LINCOLN CITY are still top after they
won 2-1 away to WIGAN. Lincoln are
on 57 goals while Wigan picked up goal number 33. PETERBOROUGH remained in second place as they win 3-1 at home to
AFC Wimbledon. Borough are now on a total of 49 goals.
In the Play-off’s we still have three of our
teams out of the four with HULL still
in third place after they drew 3-3 away
to Doncaster in fourth place. Hull are now on a total of 54 goals. PORTSMOUTH are still in fifth place as they
lost 1-0 at home to Blackpool. Portsmouth picked up their tenth blank of the
season. SUNDERLAND are still in
sixth place after they won 3-0 away to Burton. Sunderland are now on a total of
42 goals and have now scored in all of their last ten games.
Meanwhile ACCRINGTON STANLEY drew 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury and
they are on 41 goals. It’s 40 goals for FLEETWOOD
TOWN after they drew 1-1 at home to CHARLTON.
Charlton are on 47 goals and have now scored in all of their last nine games.
After a goal run of fourteen games, PLYMOUTH
picked up their sixth blank score sheet after they drew 0-0 away to Rochdale. After
scoring just one goal in their last five games, OXFORD UNITED drew 0-0 away to Ipswich and after scoring in their
last ten games, Oxford picked up blank number nine. SWINDON won 2-1 at home to CREWE.
Swindon are on 35 goals to Crewe’s 42.
LEAGUE TWO
The highest team that
we have here is CHELTENHAM after
they lost 2-0 at home to Bradford. Cheltenham picked up their seventh blank of
the season and they are in third place.
In the Play-off’s we have just two teams now with
SALFORD CITY in now fifth place
after they drew 1-1 at home to Carlisle. Salford are on 40 goals. TRANMERE in down to sixth place after
they drew 2-2 at home to Oldham. Tranmere are on 41 goals.
Meanwhile SCUNTHORPE are back in play and they won 3-1 at home to HARROGATE TOWN. Scunthorpe are on 34
goals while Harrogate picked up goal number 36. BOLTON won 1-0 away to SOUTHEND
and are on 39 goals and have now scored in all of their last eight games.
Southend picked up their sixteen blank and now two games in a row.
SCOTTISH
LEAGUES
In the Premiership Rangers after their big win have now scored in all of their last
twenty-eight games. Rangers are still 18 points in front of Celtic. CELTIC missed the chance to catch up
with Rangers after they lost 1-0 away to Ross County. That is Celtic’s
fifth blank of the season. ABERDEEN after failing to score in
their last six games, picked up goal number 33 as they win 1-0 at home to
Kilmarnock. MOTHERWELL lost 3-0 at
home to St Johnstone and that is their eleventh blank of the season.
All
Scottish football below Championship level are still suspended but they are
hoping to restart play on 6th March.

DERBY and SOUTHEND
have both picked up the most number of blank score sheets
with sixteen each.
Our highest
goal scorers in our 38th Season are MANCHESTER UNITED after
they won 9-0 win at home against Southampton in the league in Week Twenty-Three.
STEVE REEVE has remained at the
top this weekend as I managed to pick up a total of just nine goals once again
this week. It’s three weeks at the top for me this week. My teams are
Brentford, Manchester City and Rangers. Michael Fisher is still in second place as he picked up a total of eleven
goals for the week. Michael is just two goals behind me this week. His teams
are Manchester City Manchester United and Rangers.
At the other end at 116 we still have
John Nicholls who has now been there
for nine consecutive weeks. Johns teams picked up just two goals this week from
Bristol City, Fulham and West Brom.
