4 For Huddersfield

In the Championship, LUTON TOWN won 2-1 at home against Derby County. Luton are on a total of 26 goals.

In League One, HUDDERSFIELD TOWN won 4-0 away to Cambridge Utd and have taken their gaols tally to 39 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. PETERBOROUGH UNITED lost 2-1 away to Stockport County and are on a total of 46 goals. BOLTON drew 0-0 away to Wycambe and picked up their eighth blank score sheet and now two games withouit a goal.

In the Scottish Premiership, KILMARNOCK drew 1-1 away to Motherwell and are on a total of 19 goals.

Carabao/League Cup Quarter-Final

In the last game in the quarter-finals, TOTTENHAM won 4-3 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED, Tottenham have now taken their goals total to 44 while United are now on a total of 36 goals. So now we have all four teams in the semi-finals. Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham.

Carabao/League Cup Quarter-Finals

 

In the Caraboa/League Cup quarter-finals, we had 5 of our teams in action and out of them only 3 have made it to the semi-finals. They are Premier league leaders LIVERPOOL who could only win 2-1 away to bottom of the table SOUTHAMPTON. Liverpool are on a total of 41 goals and have extended their goal run to 14 league/cup games. After they had failed to score in their last 2 league games, Southampton picked up their 21st goal of the season. ARSENAL won 3-2 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE and are now on a total of 40 goals, while Palace are on 27 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. NEWCASTLE won 3-1 at home to Brentford and are now on a total of 30 goals and have scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games.

In the Scottish League Two PETERHEAD have moved down to second place after they drew 1-1 away to Forfar and are on a total of 36 goals and have extended their goal run to 8 league/cup games. It’s 30 goals for CLYDE after they lost 4-2 away to Elgin City.

Week Nineteen

 

In Week Nineteen of the competition we had another 2 players to share the Weekend Prize Money of £5 once again. They are GEOFF CARTHY and STUART KEMP (2) which now means that we have had a total of 21 winners as one of them have already won some cash this season. Both won on a score of 11 goals,

It is Geoff that has won twice now this season. The last time was in Week Fourteen on 11 goals. With another 11 goals, this is still his personal best weekend score. Geoff has just picked up 2 blank weekend score sheets. Celtic is still his best team.

Stuart won with his second combination and he started with Golden Goals back in the 2012/13 our 30th season and finished on a score of 251 goals in 64th place. Stuart for a while now, have had 2 combinations. Last season his first one finished in 87th place with 276 goals while his second finished in 73rd place with 283 goals. This season his second this weekend, is his highest to date. This is his personal best weekend score and he has picked up a total of 3 blank weekend score sheets. Peterborough is his best team. 100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Under half of us managed to pick up some goals during midweek, so the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot has changed again from last weeks leaders. The highest score went to VINCENT CRUICKSHANK and ANN WELLARD with 4 goals each.  

Still out in front this week we have ALFIE DIMMOCK up from three with a total of 41 goals. His teams are  Arsenal, Bolton and Leeds United. BARBARA BARNES (2) moves down to second place still with that total of 40 goals. In third place down from two we have DAVID BARRETT on a total of 39 goals. In fourth place we still have RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 joint Champion now with a total of 38 goals. In fifth place we have KEAMUS SETNA our 2005/06 Champion and MARK UNSTEAD both on a total of 37 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had 4 of our teams without a game this weekend and another 14 of teams that failed to score any goals. The week has not really been kind to us. The average score this weekend, remains as last weekend score of just 5 goals. So if you have done better than that? Well done.

The highest score over the weekend was 5 goals and they came from  the Premier League TOTTENHAM who won 5-0 away to bottom of the table SOUTHAMPTON. With their highest score of the season, Tottenham have taken their goals tally up to 40 goals. Southampton picked up their seventh blank of the season and 2 in a row.

Tottenham became our 10th English team to join Golden Goals back in our very first season of 1983/84. In the first season they netted a total of 71 goals. Their highest score of 109 goals were reached in the 1986/87 and 2016/17 seasons. Last season they finished on a total of 76 goals. This is their 41st season with Golden Goals and over the years they have netted a total of 3032 goals which gives them an average score of 73.9 goals per season to date. Top of the table LIVERPOOL drew 2-2 at home against Fulham. Liverpool are on a total of 39 goals and have now scored in all of their last 13 league/cup games. CHELSEA are still in second place after they won 2-1 at home to Brentford. Chelsea are on a total of 42 goals and they have now scored in all of their 7 league/cup games. In third place, after they had scored in all of their last 5 games, ARSENAL drew 0-0 at home to Everton and picked up their third blank of the season. In the Manchester derby, MANCHESTER CITY lost their fifth league game, 2-1 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED. City are on a total of 31 goals while United are on 33. CRYSTAL PALACE won 3-1 away to Brighton and are now on a total of 25 goals, and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. NEWCASTLE picked up their biggest result of the season after they won 4-0 at home to LEIESTER CITY.  Newcastle have taken their goals tally to 27 goals while Leicester picked up their third blank of the season. LEEDS UNITED are in second place after they drew 1-1 away to PRESTON NE. Leeds are on a total of 37 goals while Preston hit goal number 29. LUTON TOWN lost 2-0 away to Blackburn and picked up their fifth blank of the season. MIDDLESBROUGH won 1-0 at home to MILLWALL and are on a total of 38 goals. Millwall picked up their tird consecutive blank score sheet and now 8 over the season. OXFORD UNITED lost 3-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday and are on a total of 23 goals. SWANSEA CITY lost 3-2 at home to Sunderland and are on a total of 26 goals and a goal run of 6 league/cup games. NORWICH CITY lost 2-1 at home to BURNLEY and are on a total of 40 goals. Burnley are on 26 goals. 

LEAGUE ONE

BIRMINGHAM CITY are now in second place after they won 2-0 at home to Bristol Rovers and are on a total of 38 goals and have a goal run of 11 league/cup games. BOLTON lost 2-0 at home to Wigan and picked up their seventh blank of the season. CHARLTON drew 0-0 at home to Mansfield Town and that is their sixth blank of the season and now 2 blanks in a row. The highest team that we now have in this league is AFC WIMBLEDON in fourth place. They won 1-0 at home to DONCASTER ROVERS and are on a total of 38 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. Rovers picked up their sixth blank of the season. NOTTS COUNTY lost 3-0 away to Salford City and that is their sixth blank of the season. Scottish League Cup Final

It was yet another cup final of the old firm teams CELTIC and RANGERS. The score was 3-3 after the full 90 minutes and that remained 3-3 after extra time. Celtic then won 5-4 on penalties. Celtic are now on a total of 61 goals and keep their 100% scoring record after a total of 19 league/cup games. Rangers are now on a total of 37 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games. 

In the Premiership, Celtic remain top even though they had no league game this week. ROSS COUNTY lost 3-1 away to Hibernian and are on a total of 23 goals. KILMARNOCK won 1-0 at home to HEARTS and are on a total of 18 goals. Hearts picked up their picked up their sixth blank of the season. 

In the Championship, top of the table FALKIRK lost their third league game, 5-2 away to Ayr Utd. Falkirk are on a total of 51 goals. 

In League One, STENHOUSEMUIR move down to second place after they lost 2-1 away to Queen of the South. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 35 and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. COVE RANGERS drew again 0-0 at home to Kelty Hearts and picked up their fourth blank of the season. 

In League Two EAST FIFE are joint top this week after they lost their 5th league game 1-0 away to the other joint leaders PETERHEAD. After a run of 5 league/cup games, Fife have picked up their fourth blank of the season. Peterhead are on a total of 35 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. CLYDE lost 3-2 away to The Spartans and are on a total of 28 goals.

Our highest goal-scoring teams in our 42nd Season are MANCHESTER UNITED after they won 7-0 at home to BARNSLEY in the Carabao/League Cup 3rd Round in Week Seven. DUNDEE won 7-1 away to Bonnyrigg Rose in the Scottish League Cup in the very first game in the first round group stages.

JED WEARDEN has moved back to the top on goal difference, for the second time this season. Jed picked up a total of 10 goals from the week and his teams are Celtic, Liverpool and Peterborough. Barbara Barnes (2) moves back down to second place as her teams picked up a total of 7 goals from the week. Barbara’s teams are Celtic, Falkirk and Manchester United.

At the other end at 114 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY with his fifth consecutive weekend. Charlie’s teams picked up just 3 goals this weekend. His teams are Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.

Leeds Take Control

In the Championship, LEEDS UNITED are back on top, at the moment, after they won 3-1 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH. Leeds are now on a total of 36 goals while Brough are on 37. BURNLEY could of moved second place, but they remain in third place after they drew 0-0 at home to Derby County. That is their eighth blank of the season after a goal run of 5 league games. LUTON TOWN won their sixth league game after they won 2-1 at home against Stoke City. Luton are on a total of 24 goals. SWANSEA CITY won 2-1 away to Plymouth and are on a total of 24 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. PORTSMOUTH drew 0-0 at home to NORWICH CITY and picked up their seventh blank score sheet. Norwich also picked up their seventh blank score sheet and now 2 in a row.

Week Eighteen

 In Week Eighteen of the competition we had two players to share the Weekend Prize Money of £5 once again. They are ALICE STUBBS (2) and JANE STUBBS which now means that we have had a total of 20 winners this season. Both won on a score of 9 goals,

Alice started with Golden Goals back in the 2012/13 season on where she became our Champion. She won on a total of 318 goals which puts her in 15th place in our Champions League. Alice has won with her 2nd selection this weekend and the highest that this one has been is third place in Week Eight. She has had 3 blank weekend score sheets with this combination. Celtic is her best team. 

Jane is in her fourth season with us although she first appeared in the 2008/09 Season. Jane finished in 29th place with a total of 263 goals. She also had 2 weekend wins. Last time with us was in the 20010/11 season where Jane finished in 104th place with 207 goals. This season Jane has been as high as 57th place in Week Three and has picked up a total of 3 blank weekend score sheets. Chelsea is her best team. Their winning teams are

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had yet another storm that cancelled only a few games over the weekend. We had 10 of our teams without a game this weekend and another 6 of teams that failed to score any goals. We had some really good midweek results, but the weekend has let us down as the average score moves down from seven goals last weekend, to just 5 goals this weekend. So if you have done better than that? Well done. 

The highest score over the weekend was 4 goals and they came from 2 of our teams. From the Scottish League One we had STENHOUSEMUIR. and the Premier League CHELSEA. Here are the weekend results.

Liverpool, top of the table, had their game cancelled due to the storm. CHELSEA are in second place after they beat TOTTENHAM 4-3 away. In third place we have ARSENAL who drew 1-1 away to Fulham and are on a total of 37 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. Crazy Night for Golden Goals

Well we had a crazy night for goals last night, so without a doubt will change the table for Week Eighteen. PETERBOROUGH picked up their sixth blank of the season after they lost 1-0 at home to Burton. BLACKPOOL won 2-1 away to Shrewsbury town and are on a total of 35 goals. 

In League Two BROMLEY won 2-1 at home against Gillingham and are on a total of 28 goals. Bromley have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games. DONCASTER ROVERS won 4-2 away to Fleetwood Town and have taken their goals tally to 31. 

In the Scottish Premiership top of the table CELTIC won 1-0 away to second place Aberdeen and are on a total of 55 goals and still keep their 100% scoring record after a total of 17 league/cup games. RANGERS now in third place won 6-0 at home to KILMARNOCK and have taken their goals tally to 31 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. Kilmarnock picked up their seventh blank of the season. DUNDEE won 4-1 at home against Motherwell and are now on a total of 51 goals.

Wins for Leicester and Palace

In the Premier League It’s 20 goals for CRYSTAL PALACE after they won heir second league game, 1-0 away to IPSWICH TOWN. Ipswich picked up their fifth blank of the season and now 2 in a row. LEICESTER CITY won 3-1 at home to WEST HAM and are now on a total of 25 goals. West Ham hit goal number 20. 

In League One BOLTON won 3-1 at home to Mansfield Town and are now on a total of 33 goals. CHARLTON lost 2-1 at home to Crawley Town and are on a total of 26 goals. WREXHAM won 1-0 at home to BARNSLEY and are on a total of 29 goals while Barnsley picked up their  second consecutive blank score sheet and six over the season. It’s 30 goals for HUDDERSFIELD TOWN as they win 1-0 at home to Wigan. 

In League Two AFC WIMBLEDON drew 2-2 at home to Newport County and are on a total of 34 goals. It’s 30 goals for MK DONS as they win 3-0 at home to CHESTERFIELD. Chesterfield picked up their fifth blank of the season and now 2 games without a goal. NOTTS COUNTY lost 3-2 away to Walsall and are on a total of 36 goals. 

In the Scottish League One STENHOUSEMUIR go top of the table after they won 3-0 away to COVE RANGERS. Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 30 goals. After a goal run of 16 league/cup games, picked up blank number 3.

Falkirk Still in Cup

In the SCOTTISH CUP 3rd round, FALKIRK have become our third team to get through to the next, after they won 3-1 away to non league East Kilbride. Falkirk are now on a total of 46 goals.

Week Seventeen

In Week Seventeen of the competition we had two players to share the Weekend Prize Money of £5. They are MARK GREGORY and BRUCE SELF which now means that we have had a total of 18 winners this season. Both won on a score of 14 goals, 

Mark started with Golden Goals back in the 2008/09 season on where he finished in 49th place with a total of 251 goals. His teams then were  Birmingham, Manchester United and Rangers. Last season he finished in 61st place with 291 goals. This season he has picked up just 2 blank weekend score sheets and this weekend is his personal best score. His best team is Celtic.

Bruce started with us in the 2006/07 season with his teams of Celtic, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. They collected a total of 260 goals and finished him in the winning frame in 18th place. He also had 1 shared weekend win. Last season he finished in 83rd place with 279 goals. This season Bruce has had a total of 3 blank weekend score sheets and this is also his personal best score. His highest position is 19th place in Week Seven. Celtic is also his best team. Their winning teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Just over half of us managed to pick up some goals during midweek, so the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot has changed a lot from last weeks leaders. The highest score went to STEVE STUBBS (2) with 9 goals. They came from Celtic, Leeds Utd and Norwich City.

Still out in front we have BARBARA BARNES (2) who’s lead has now been cut to just 3 goals. Barbara has a total of 36 goals. Her teams are Celtic, Falkirk and Manchester United. In second place we still have ALFIE DIMMOCK now with a total of 33 goals. In third place we now have PHIL COLLINS up from four and ANTHONY POMERANTZ joins the race, both are on a total of 32 goals. In joint fourth place all on a total of 31 goals we have DAVID BARRETT down from two, STEVE STUBBS (2) and RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 joint Champion down from three. In fifth place we now have KEAMUS SETNA our 2005/06 Champion coming back in the frame.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had 8 of our teams without a game this weekend and another 7 of teams that failed to score any goals. So we had a really good weekend with the average score moving up from six goals last weekend, to 7 goals this weekend. So if you have done better than that? Well done. The highest score over the weekend was 5 goals, and we had 3 of our teams that reached that score. They are ARSENAL, CELTIC and STENHOUSEMUIR. Here are the weekend results. 

FA CUP 2nd Round

We had 10 of our teams in cup action and out of them, only 5 have made it through to the next round. The teams through are PETERBOROUGH after they won 4-3 at home to NOTTS COUNTY. Borough are now on a total of 40 goals while County, after they had failed to score in their previous 2 games, are now on a total of 34 goals. CHARLTON won 4-0 away to Walsall and have taken their goals tally to 25. DONCASTER ROVERS won 2-1 in extra time against non league Kettering Town away, after going a goal down. Rovers are on a total of 27 goals. BIRMINGHAM CITY won 2-1 away to BLACKPOOL and are on a total of 32 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. Blackpool are on a total of 33 goals. BROMLEY won 2-1 away to non league Solihull Moors and are on a total of 26 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. Teams that went out are BARNSLEY after they drew 0-0 after extra time against Bristol Rovers and then lost 4-3 on penalties. That is Barnsley’s fifth blank of the season. CHESTERFIELD lost 2-0 away to Exeter City and picked up their fourth blank of the season. AFC WIMBLEDON lost 2-1 at home to non league Dagenham & Redbridge and picked up goal number 32.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Top of the table LIVERPOOL won 2-0 to beat last season’s champions MANCHESTER CITY at home. Liverpool are now 9 points in front and have taken their goals total to 34 goals and have extended their goal run to 11 league/cup games. City have now lost their fourth consecutive league game, and their second consecutive blank score sheet. In joint second place we now have ARSENAL who beat London rivals WEST HAM 5-2 away. Arsenal have now taken their goals tally to 34 while West Ham are on a total of 19 goals. With Arsenal is CHELSEA after they won 3-0 at home to ASTON VILLA and are now on a total of 31 goals while Villa picked up their fourth blank of the season. LEICESTER CITY lost 4-1 away to Brentford and are on a total of 22 goals.CRYSTAL PALACE drew 1-1 at home to NEWCASTLE and are on a total of 19 goals, while Newcastle are on 18 goals. IPSWICH TOWN lost 1-0 away to Nottingham Forest and that is their fourth blank of the season. AFC BOURNEMOUTH picked up their biggest result of the season as they won 4-2 away to Wolves. Bournemouth have taken their goals total to 20 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. MANCHESTER UNITED won 4-0 at home to Everton and have taken their goals tally up to 29 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. TOTTENHAM drew 1-1 at home to Fulham and are on a total of 32 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games.

CHAMPIONSHIP

With Sheffield United top of the table with BURNLEY now in second place after they won 2-0 away to Stoke City. Burnley are on a total of 23 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH won 3-1 at home to Hull City and are now on a total of 35 goals. OXFORD UNITED drew 1-1 at home to MILLWALL and are on a total of 22 goals while Millwall hit goal number 21and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. LEEDS UNITED lost 1-0 away to Blackburn Rovers and picked up their sixth blank of the season. NORWICH won 4-2 at home against LUTON TOWN and have taken their goals tally to 39 goals. Luton are on a total of 21 goals. PRESTON NE drew 1-1 at home to WBA and are on a total of 25 goals. It’s 20 goals for SWANSEA CITY after they drew 2-2 at home to PORTSMOUTH. Portsmouth are on 18 goals.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the SCOTTISH CUP 3rd Round games, we had just 3 teams in this round. Two have made it through to the next round. They are COVE RANGERS who won 2-0 at home to Inverness CT and are on a total of 28 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 16 league/cup games. STENHOUSEMUIR won 5-0 away to non league Irvine Meadows and have taken their goals tally up to 27. The team that went out are PETERHEAD who lost 3-2 at home to Montrose and are on a total of 32 goals and have a goal run of 5 league/cup games.

In the Premiership, top of the table CELTIC went 5-0 up at half time against ROSS COUNTY at home, but they failed to add more. Celtic have now scored in all of their 16 league/cup games. They have taken their goals total to 54 and well on course now to reach yet another 100 goals. County picked up their ninth blank of the season. RANGERS won 1-0 away to St Johnstone and are on a total of 25 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. After they had failed to score in their last 2 games, KILMARNOCK drew 1-1 at home to DUNDEE and are on a total of 16 goals. Dundee are on a total of 47 goals. HEARTS drew 1-1 at home to Aberdeen and picked up goal number 16.

In League Two EAST FIFE are down to second place after they drew 1-1 away to Bonnyrigg Rose and are on a total of 36 goals.

Our worst performing team is ROSS COUNTY this weekend as they have had a total of 9th blank score sheet from 20 league/cup games. They have a total of 22 goals.

Our highest goal-scoring teams in our 42nd Season are MANCHESTER UNITED after they won 7-0 at home to BARNSLEY in the Carabao/League Cup 3rd Round in Week Seven. DUNDEE won 7-1 away to Bonnyrigg Rose in the Scottish League Cup in the very first game in the first round group stages.

 We have yet another new leader this week on goal difference, and they are MARK GREGORY who become our fifth player this season. Mark picked up a total of 14 goals at the weekend and his teams are Arsenal, Celtic and Peterborough. Jed Wearden moves down to second place as his teams picked up a total of 11 goals from the week. Jed’s teams are Celtic, Liverpool and Peterborough.

At the other end at 114 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY with his third consecutive weekend. Charlie’s teams picked up 6 goals this weekend. His teams are Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.
