Boxing Day Results



Here are the Boxing Day results for our Golden Goals teams and as usual our teams for this season are in Bold Caps.
In the Premier League, LIVERPOOL are still top as they win 4-0 away to LEICESTER CITY. Liverpool are now on a total of 53 goals while City picked up their third blank score sheet of the season after a goal run of sixteen games. It’s 40 goals for ASTON VILLA as they win 1-0 at home against Norwich. After a two game dry spell for goals ARSENAL are now on a total of 35 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Bournemouth.  CHELSEA lost 2-0 at home to Southampton and that is their four blank score sheet. WEST HAM lost 2-1 away to Crystal Palace and they are now on 22 goals. EVERTON are on 31 goals as they win 1-0 at home against Burnley. MANCHESTER UNITED won 4-1 at home against NEWCASTLE,  after going a goal down. United are now on a total of 36 goals while Newcastle hit goal number 20. SHEFFIELD UNITED drew 1-1 at home to Watford and they are now on 25 goals. TOTTENHAM won 2-1 against Brighton after going a goal down in the first half. Tottenham are now on a total of 34 goals.

In the Championship, WEST BROM are still top here as they drew 1-1 away to BARNSLEY. West Brom are now on a total of 38 goals while Barnsley are now on 32. BLACKBURN ROVERS played their second game of the week and drew 1-1 at home to BIRMINGHAM. Rovers are now on 35 goals to Birmingham’s 25. BRENTFORD are now on 38 goals as they won 3-1 at home to Swansea. CARDIFF are also now on 35 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to Millwall. NOTTINGHAM FOREST won 2-0 away to Hull and they are now on 34 goals. LEEDS UNITED drew 1-1 at home to PRESTON and they hit goal number 42 and have extended their goal run to ten games. Preston are on a total of 42 goals. We have not had a big result from LUTON for a while as they drew 3-3 at home to FULHAM. Luton are now on 37 goals to Fulham’s 38. MIDDLESBROUGH are now on a total of 24 goals as they win 1-0 at home against HUDDERSFIELD who picked up their sixth blank of the season. QUEENS PARK RANGERS picked up their seventh blank score sheet after they lost 1-0 away to Reading. STOKE picked up another three goals as they win 3-2 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. Wednesday are now on a total of 37 goals. After a tow game dry spell, DERBY are now on a total of 23 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Wigan.

In League One, IPSWICH are now our highest team here in second place as they drew 0-0 at home to Gillingham to pick up their sixth blank of the season and now two in a row. BLACKPOOL picked up their six blank score and and also two in a row now as they lost 1-0 at home to ACCRINGTON STANLEY who are now on 32 goals. LINCOLN CITY lost 1-0 away to OxfordUtd and that is their ninth blank score sheet and now two in a row. PETERBOROUGH lost 3-0 at home to DARLINGTON and that is their sixth blank score sheet and now two in a row. Darlington are now on 33 goals. PORTSMOUTH are now on 41 goals as they won 2-0 at home to Wycombe. Portsmouth have now scored in all of their last twelve games. ROTHERHAM won 2-1 away to Shrewsbury and they are now on a total of 47 goals. SOUTHEND drew 2-2 at home to MK DONS and they are now on 29 goals to the Don’s 26. SUNDERLAND picked up their seventh blank of the season as they drew 0-0 with bottom of the table Bolton.

In League Two, BRADFORD CITY are out highest team here in the league in fifth place after they drew 0-0 away to Carlisle and that is their sixth blank score sheet. PLYMOUTH won 1-0 away to Cheltenham and that is goal number 37 for them. LEYTON ORIENT are now on 32 goals as they lost 3-1 at home to Colchester. MANSFIELD TOWN drew 2-2 at home to Port Vale and they are now on a total of 33 goals. OLDHAM won 2-1 away to Morecambe and they are now on 28 goals. SALFORD CITY won 3-1 at home against Crewe and they are now on 29 goals. SCUNTHORPE lost 2-0 at home to Walsall and that is their eighth blank score sheet. FOREST GREEN ROVERS drew 0-0 away to Stevenage and that was their twelfth blank score sheet and now just two goals in their last five games.  

In the Scottish Premiership, CELTIC are still top as they won 2-1 away to St Mirren and they are now on a total of 67 goals and have extended their goal run to thirteen games. RANGERS won 1-0 at home to Kilmarnock and that was their 58th goal of the season. HEARTS lost 2-0 at home to Hibernian and not only are they now rock bottom of the league, they have now had a total of twelve blank score sheets with just two goals in their last eight games.
