Week Twenty-One

In Week Twenty-One of the competition we have started our second half of this competition and although we had three winners to share the £6 weekend jackpot, they have all won before so our total remains at twenty-three winners. Our winner’s won on s score of 8 goals and they are CLIFF BAMBRIDGE, GUY DOWSETT and MARK UNSTEAD.
Cliff is celebrating his third win of the season and he last won some cash was back in Week Twelve’s Rollover and shared the cash. Since then he has still only had two blank score sheets to date. His best team is Celtic.
Guy has picked up his second win of the season and he last won back in our very first weekend in Week One. Guy has also picked up a total of two blank score sheets and he’s best team is also Celtic.
Mark also has picked up his second win of the season and he last won back in Week Twelve’s Rollover with Cliff. Mark has only had one blank score sheet in Week Sixteen. He also has Celtic as his best team. Their teams are once again

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Most of us picked up some more goals this week and the race for the cash has remained the same this week. It was RYAN FC who picked up the highest midweek score with nine goals to take his midweek goals total up to 33. The goals came from Manchester City, Manchester United and Rangers with three goals each.
This week COLIN WEBB (2) is still out in front but still just one goal as he takes his total up to 54 goals. In second place now on 53 goals we still have PATRICK O’DONAGHUE. In third place we still have ANDY EYLES now with a total of 51 goals. In fourth place we still have PHIL REEVE now with 50 goals. In fifth place both with 48 goals each we still have TONY GUY (4) but he is now joined with AVA & AUBREY CLARK who moves into the frame this week.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend we had eight of our teams without a game and another fourteen that failed to score any goals. So with this in mind the weekends average score fell from six goals of last weekend to just 3 goals this weekend. We did not have any high score’s this weekend but we did have four teams that picked up three goals each. They were COVE RANGERS, FALKIRK, LEYTON ORIENT and MANCHESTER CITY.

PREMIER LEAGUE
As we start the second half going into the Christmas period, Champions Liverpool had no game over the weekend but they are still ten points clear and a game in hand of LEICESTER CITY in second place. Leicester lost 3-1 away to third place MANCHESTER CITY after going a goal up. Leicester are now on a total of 51 goals and they have now scored in all of their last sixteen games. City have taken their goals total up to 59 goals and they have now scored in all of their last twelve games. CHELSEA are still in fourth place after they won 2-0 away to London rivals TOTTENHAM. Chelsea are now on a total of 41 goals while Tottenham after a goal run of nine games, picked up their fourth blank of the season. SHEFFIELD UNITED have moved up to fifth place after they won 1-0 away to Brighton and they are now on a total of 24 goals. The shock of the weekend is that Watford, bottom of the table won 2-0 at home against MANCHESTER UNITED. United also picked up their fourth blank of the season. WOLVES won 2-1 away to Norwich and they are now on a total of 28 goals and have scored in all of their last nineteen games. EVERTON drew 0-0 at home to ARSENAL to pick up their sixth blank of the season to Arsenal’s four and now two in a row. ASTON VILLA lost 3-1 at home to Southampton to pick up goal number 39. Villa are third from bottom. NEWCASTLE picked up their seventh win of the season as they win 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace. Newcastle are now on a total of 19 goals.  

CHAMPIONSHIP
WEST BROM once again remain top after they drew 1-1 at home to BRENTFORD after going a goal down. West Brom have taken their goals tally to 47 and they have now scored in all of their last thirteen games. Brentford have moved down to sixth place but they have taken their goals total to 35. LEEDS UNITED in second place lost 2-1 away to FULHAM and are now on a total of 41 goals and they have now scored in all of their last nine games. Fulham are now on 35 goals and have moved up to fourth place. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY are up to third place after they won 1-0 at home against Bristol City. Wednesday picked up goal number 35 and a goal run of nine games. PRESTON drew 0-0 away to CARDIFF to pick up their eighth blank score sheet to Cardiff’s six. HUDDERSFIELD won 2-1 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST and they are now on a total of 26 goals to Forest’s total of 32. BIRMINGHAM picked up their ninth blank score sheet of the season after they lost 3-0 away to Hull. LUTON lost 1-0 at home to Swansea with a late goal. That was Luton’s eighth blank score sheet and now just one goal in their last three games. BARNSLEY won 2-1 away to Millwall and they are now on 31 goals. It’s 40 goals for QUEENS PARK RANGERS after they drew 2-2 at home to Charlton. DERBY lost 3-0 away to Reading and that is their tenth blank score sheet and now two in a row.

LEAGUE ONE
PETERBOROUGH are our highest team here in second place after they drew 0-0 away to Bristol Rovers. Borough have now had a total of five blank score sheets. IPSWICH are now down to third place after they lost 1-0 away to PORTSMOUTH and that is their fifth blank score sheet while Portsmouth picked up goal number 39. BLACKPOOL picked up their fifth blank score sheet after they lost 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury. SOUTHEND are now on 27 goals after they lost 3-2 away to bottom of the table Bolton. LINCOLN CITY lost 1-0 away to Coventry to pick up their eighth blank score sheet. It’s 30 for DONCASTER as they drew 1-1 at home to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. Stanley are now on 31 goals. MK DONS lost 3-1 away to Gillingham and they are now on a total of 24 goals. ROTHERHAM drew 2-2 at home to Fleetwood and they are now on 45 goals.

LEAGUE TWO
BRADFORD CITY are still our highest here in fifth place after they drew 1-1 at home to SALFORD CITY. Bradford are now on 29 goals to Salford’s 26 after a three game dry spell for goals. LEYTON ORIENT won 3-2 away to CambridgeUtd and they are now on a total of 31 goals. FOREST GREEN ROVERS are still in sixth place after they drew 2-2 at home to Swindon after going two down by half time. Rovers after a three game dry spell are now on 32 goals. SCUNTHORPE are now on 31 goals as they win 1-0 away to Grimsby. OLDHAM won 2-1 at home to Crawley and they are now on 26 goals. MANSFIELD are now on 31 goals after they drew 1-1 at home to Northampton.

SCOTTISH RESULTS
In the Premiership, CELTIC won 2-0 at home to Aberdeen and they are now on a total of 65 goals and have now extended their goal run to twelve games. HEARTS lost again 2-1 away to Hamilton. That is their 27th goal of the season and now two goals in their last seven games. 
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still on top on goal difference with East Fife as they lost 2-0 at home to Dumbarton. Rovers picked up their fifth blank of the season. FALKIRK won 3-2 away to Montrose and they are on 41 goals and remain in fourth place in the league. PETERHEAD lost 2-1 at home to East Fife and they are now on a total of 24 goals.
In League Two, COVE RANGERS are top going into Christmas as they won 3-1 away to Queen’s Park. Rangers are now on a total of 51 goals. STENHOUSEMUIR lost 3-1 away to Cowdenbeath and they are now on a total of 23 goals.

Our on form team this weekend is WOLVES after they have scored in all of their last nineteen games. They have a total of 28 goals which gives them an average score of 1.4 goals per game.

Our worst team this week is HEARTS. They have picked up a total of eleven blank score sheets in twenty-six games played. Hearts have scored just two goals in their last seven games. They have a total of 27 goals ans one vote.

Our highest goal scorers in our 37th Season is LEICESTER CITY from Week Thirteen as the beat Southampton 9-0 away in the league.  

It’s all change at the top this week as we go into the Christmas period. GUY DOWSETT is back at the top for his seventeenth weekend after he picked up a total of thirteen goals. Five of them came from midweek with the other eight from the weekend. Guy’s combination is once again Celtic, Cove Rangers and Manchester City. But Guy is only joint top on goal difference with Barbara Barnes (1) after she picked up a total of thirteen goals over the week. Barbara has the combination of Celtic, Leicester City and Manchester City.  
At the other end at 123 we have our fourth player to stay there so far and this weekend it’s EMMA SAWYER turn. Emma picked up just two goals at the weekend from her combination of Fulham 2, Luton 0 and her third team, West Ham who had no game due to the weather at the weekend.
